ELO Help
I really like this game and I enjoy competing in ranked for basically one reason. I want to see how high I can go and see if I can make it to gold before the end of the season. Now I am a realistic guy and I know that being at silver 5 my chances of getting to gold before the end of the season are not great.
There is something that is just bugging me though. I check my games on lolking after matches, and it seems like games I am losing all have one thing in common. Either my team has the lowest level player (yesterday I had a bronze three on my team) or the other team has the highest level player (I have lost games where the other team had a silver 3). Now personally I don't mind being matched up in lane against a silver 3 because I play smart most of the time and I can handle a tougher opponent. But it is very disheartening when someone on the other team is higher level and just destroying my teammates.
Now I am really not trying to complain here, but I would really like to know if we could just have matchmaking put us together based on our tier and level within that tier. I want games where I am matched up with other silver 5 teammates and opponents. I don't mind waiting an extra minute or two for matchmaking to put me into a team of equal tier status.
I would really appreciate some feedback on this. And, I also have some questions that I was wondering if people could answer:
-
What does the matchmaking system use as criteria for putting players together on a team?
-
Can this criteria be changed to put players of the same tier in a match together?
-
Do teams come out unbalanced and if so why?
-
Hypothetical situation: I lose three games in a row and then crush the next two games then lose three more in a row and again crush two. I never level up to silver 4 because I lose more than I win. Am I really at my max level or is the elo system jumping me up for every win making it too hard to win after that so I lose a few? In other words do I get penalized with tougher matchups when I do really well in a game and carry hard?
Thanks for your feedback.
