To All Who Blame Champion Designers For DDoS and Etc

The Champion Creation division and the server and tech support division have completely different workers, so the problem does not lie within the new champion creations. Please realize that Riot is outnumbered by the millions of players they are trying to please, and flaming them pointlessly is not the way to go about it. Let them do their job, how many years has this game been successful? Exactly. Let them do their jobs. And I'm not sure if anyone knows about the hacker group LizardSquad, but they have been partly the reason for the recent server DDoSing these past few weeks, and they've targeted many other popular domains. So think about what Riot has to deal with, instead of the ONE day you have to wait to play a game. A game. To Riot, it's their jobs and lives. summoner 11

It isn't just one day though, for some, like myself, I have not played more than 1 or 2 games a day without ANY lag or spikes in about 3 weeks now, and I've continued to show support for this game, I'm not going to keep supporting a game that continuously gets DDoSed like crazy, the fact that League is a common target shows just how bad their servers and security really is. We've already seen SONY get DDoSed again and they immediately did something about it and introduced Prolexic back into their servers. I'm not saying this is what RIOT should do, but they should really be focused on upgrading their servers and upping their security. All these DDoSers are doing this for mostly one reason: To expose corporate greed, and League has been a prime target for them to expose that greed.

A lot of people don't understand a thing about DDoS. It's a part of the reason why people do it. Trolling is so much more effective when it makes people say stupid things.

It's like when people blame Bill Gates for poor customer support from Microsoft or something.

i joined this communiity not too long ago ( 6-7 motnhs ago) and honestly i cant say im ashammed or disappointed in the staff at all, they are the most responsive staff members of a game community i have ever seen in my life

Just in case none of you were aware, LizardSquad disbanded (in the sense that they won't be DDOS'ing anymore). They shouldn't be a problem any longer, so I guess that is something to be happy about.

Well all I know is a company that makes millions upon millions of dollars can invest more into a team that has the sole job of combating the hackers. Having trouble with hackers? Hire better hackers/programmers. The fact that a mega corporation like Riot can be brought to their knees by some sniveling little hackers, is disgusting.

People have been blaming the Champion division for server issues? When? I, quite literally, cannot believe someone would say that.

I couldn't have said it better my self. Especially the last couple of sentences.

"Ddos and etc."

I think you did it wrong...

There is no 100% surefire way to beat DDoS, you need more processing power than them or the ability to cut the node that's the source of the traffic out of your network. You can resist them, but it's nigh impossible to stop them without disconnecting them from the network and that is very very hard to do quickly.

Another thing is that although DDoS'ing is really annoying and makes you want to punch the perpetrator in the gut, it isn't all that bad of an attack. It doesn't cause much (if any) permanent damage, and usually only lasts for a couple hours, or maybe a day. it's a denial of service, not an account hack or anything malignant toward data. So really, get over it. They are working to keep it from happening, but while it does you will just have to live with the fact that the system isn't perfect, just like the rest of the world. Be glad the servers are up as much as they are :)

i've paid more than 300 dollars to riot, and although i agree with you... They have to fix the shitt and do it soon. i wont buy any more rp till they fix it. we all should do the same, i love this game but fix it ffs. we are giving you money. because i dont want to hear that what im saying doesnt make sense or is wrong in some way let me say i understand that its not a simple process but all im saying is riot wont get any more of my money, ive paid plenty. Maybe if we all stopped paying money to Riot they would make a bigger deal about the Ddos'ing, both the punishment and fixing why they get Ddos

It would probably help a lot if the North American internet infrastructure weren't becoming an embarrassment with its corporate extortion, squabbling, and negligence. It would be much better at handling this sort of shit, one way or another.

But it would help a lot more if humans weren't prone to being nasty self-obsessed chimpanzees. That would be less "two birds with one stone" than "anti-air flak artillery aimed at a goose migration".

League might be a big game, but it doesn't make as much money as you think it does.
Free to play games have notable cash loss because of their models against MMOs that charge per month for play.
League, per 100 playerbase, makes much less money than World of Warcraft.
Not to mention, there really is no security against DDoS. I mean, you can hire a company with bigger servers who can take the heat, but that gets exponentially expensive due to the server size that Riot has.
There are some security measures otherwise, but they become extremely expensive.
Riot's pockets really aren't full of cash like you might think. Their game costs a lot of money in every aspect, and their workforce not only does great work, but is massive.

What about being stuck in loading screen while everyone else loads in. Thats no ones fault but Riots.
