We need to clarify something here summoners. The report button is not a automatic ban button. It is merely a system of tracking down players who are repeat offenders of summoner's code violations. Let us get something straight about what qualifies as a reportable offense.

Your jungle not ganking you or others is not reportable (he/she may want to avoid lanes that are already fed, match up is unfavorable, previous issues when attempting to gank) as it is not their job to gank but to apply pressure and/or secure objectives.

A player who disconnects due to issues not currently in their control (if they or a queued partner informs you of issues with connection) is not reportable for leaving/afk.

An ally who dies alot in a game is not reportable for feeding. This offense is saved for INTENTIONAL feeding. Who knows what happened maybe they were just having a bad game/match up. However if your ally is continuously attempting to trade or fight a fed opponent that they should within right mind be avoiding then this offense can be brought into question.

Unskilled is not a bannable offense (Teemo deal with itTeemo ).

Calling to report another player is not reportable (at least not immediately). If a player continues to harass others with demands of reports (or even the famous I'll report "A" if you report "B") then reports of verbal abuse and negative attitude may be brought into question.

Common trash talk is not verbal abuse (get used to it). Unless someone is racially or sexually harassing you they are likely not verbally abusing you.

Disagreeing on strategy is not reportable. However when a single player refuses to follow the vote of the team refusal to communicate may be brought into question.

That about sums it up, remember to always leave a description for your reports so the tribunal knows what happened. To the inevitable summoner 14 this post will get all I can say is that we all have bad days and love to take our anger out on the poor report button. Just remember on thing report =/= automatic ban.

  1. In every game I've played and from what others have said about jungles and mates who play jungle a lot, have all said jung is for ganking and helping team mates, this does include putting pressure on the other team. But part of that is ganking. Also most problems I have seen with jungs that get them reported isn't because they don't gank, but they don't help at all or will ignore the lane pinging for help and go to the a lane that doesn't need help. But yeah it seems most people agree part of a jungs job is to gank. Not their only part but it is part.

  2. If it is their first problem of the night/day I agree a connection issue isn't reportable, as long as it's their first issue of the night/day and it gets explained as such. But I've been in games hell most of us have been in games where we have an afker or someone with connection issues who has had problems all night/day but who has continued to play pvp matches (ranked or normal) and they or their friend admit to that. Those players get reported because they know they have issues yet have continued to play knowing that. Which causes problems for the team. If you still want to play but have issues like that then play matches vsing bots not other players, I think that is pretty fair.

  3. This I agree with, I have had matches like that where I have just had a bad match. Unless there are other issues involved sometimes people just have bad matches.

  4. I agree, but in saying that why have a report option saying "Unskilled Player" if it really doesn't do anything?

  5. I agree with this also.

  6. Sorry but this one should be reported and for good reason. People don't want to play a game where someone is trash talking, it's annoying and just makes the game less fun. Also you can not judge what common trash talk is, maybe what you consider trash talk another player found very hurtful. It also leads to players trash talking worse and worse because they are allowed to get away with it early on. Everyones opinions on what they find verbal abuse is different as such it's unfair to pretty much say get over it. There is a reason in a lot of professional sports nowadays players can get fines or worse for swearing and trash talking.

  7. This I also agree with.

  8. You do know the tribunal is down right? Riots handling all the reports now until they have finished the tribunal upgrades. It's been down for months, so right now Riot are dealing in automated bans and chat restrictions. I don't know how many if any cases they actually review personally, but that's how it is right now.
