@Riot Constructive Feedback on Servers
I (and many more apparently by looking at the forums) am getting really sick and tired of the server issues that seem to persist and never go away. I can speak for a lot of my friends who play league and more than likely the majority of the community when I say that if you treated this issue better (not just fixing it, but also the way that you deal with the community over it) you could make it so that you would not have so much hate and non-constructive feedback on the forums (there would still be some hate, but that comes with the territory of a free to play game with a large community).
What I think players want more than anything (in any game) right now is to have stable servers. I suggest that instead of putting in little patches that temporarily fix the problem and have it come up again, make a permanent fix. You could do it like Blizzard and World of Warcraft and announce that the servers will be down for an extended period of time (they usual did it for like 8 hours, but with something this big it could even be up to 1-2 days), I bet there would be an overwhelmingly positive response and flood of players when you got back up and running with a server that didn’t have problems. This would improve the community as whole in my opinion, and would make it so that I don’t see a “riot plz” in every game and every page of GD. Hell, you could even make a limited edition skin (apocalypse based skin for the world going down for a while, I don’t know lol) or something to release at the same time as putting the server back up and even make up a good hunk of money you would have lost by not having the game up and running.
Now I understand that you would have to have a plan in place and ready to go in order for that to work properly, and if you do not have a plan ready or can’t get one ready anytime soon at least let the community know that. We don’t care if you don’t have the resources available to do that. We understand that Riot is made up of humans that aren’t omnipotent or omniscient beings (unless you are hiding something from us!) and we understand it takes time, money, and manpower to get all of this accomplished. But I have not heard anything from anyone at Riot in regards to servers being permanently fixed. A rough time-frame even if it needs to be pushed back or changed (I’d suggest in between spring and summer split), a nod that you understand there’s an issue and you are in fact doing something about it, or just something that will make it so that myself, my friends, and the whole community will quit whining about the fact that they are lagging in game. I’d love to hear back from a Red Post on this, but we’ll see.
PS if you can’t say something for legal reasons, at tell us that is why you can’t talk about it…
