Queues and Ranked

Hello,

For a while now I have been thinking about the unfair way we are put in a position that we do not like regarding queues and playstyle. You see, if we get into the chat pre-game it's up to us to decide who will play what role but it is very unfair when 2 people want to play top and only 1 gets to because he called first or has an earlier pick. So I decided to investigate other games and see what reasonable solution could there be to this issue.

What I came up with is that the system implemented in World of Warcraft is a perfect match to what we need in League of Legends. LFG interface in WoW lets you choose the role you want to play BEFORE you are paired with a team, making it a seamless experience when you go into an instance because you talk about strategy and don't focus on arguing who gets to play what. I am sure LoL developers might think that the current system is fair because everyone gets to be last, first or mid pick as many times statistically, but it's still a little bit away from completely fair.

I hope this message will get to them, if not please help me out to make a petition for this feature because lets face it Teamwork OP, arguing since pre-game just loses matches.

Thanks for reading,

Raz

Ooooh, I think i get it. So you want to put in your preferred position before the game and get matched with people who want all the other positions. So your saying if I put in mid, I would get matched with someone who wants top, someone who wants jungle and so on. But what will happen if 80% of the players want solo top and not enough games are open for those people? And what if people change their mind or decide to troll and pick support, but auto-lock top? I've also been thinking about this problem but I think it would be best if Riot just left it alone =/.

in WoW what happens is that you can actually boot by voting, which could also be an option. For example: if I queue Tank in WoW and I come in as a dps, the team has the ability to vote to kick me and find another tank. Also there is really an established meta in LoL that is the regular team comp, but it doesn't mean you wouldn't be able to do different things if your team chats about it pre-game.

The other thing I like about that system is that you can queue for multiple positions as in "I want to go top, supp or mid" and whichever the system determines is available right away is the one it will queue you with. Another fair part about it is that the least played classes, in WoW in LoL it would be lanes or spots, actually get to queue faster than those that are played the most. If you take a pool of 1000 players and 700 want to play top or mid, 200 want add, 70 want jungle and 30 want supp, the support and jungle players would get into queues faster and those that want mid or top would have to wait until there is a whole team available, making it beneficial for everyone if they want to play right away to learn to play support or jungle in this specific case.

It's just my 2 cents, I think it works well in other games and could improve the team communication overall in LoL, because you would have less people arguing over "I called top first. No you did not. I got it first on my screen. Screw it I'm going aft, etc" I think it would simplify a very tedious process

lol it looks like Riot liked your idea :P but I think Riot made it better by making it its own que so it doesnt replace blind/draft pick.
