Riot is seriously pissing me off

Why is riot suddenly throwing out 14 day bans without issuing less severe bans first? I've heard too many complaints and even if they do do something wrong, why does it automatically jump to 14 days? Not only would riot lose money on these customers but also on the well-behaved ones because they will be scared to spend money as their accounts are always in jeopardy.

Comment below if you or someone you know has recently received the atrocious 14 day ban.

I haven't, and none of my friends have either. I only have around 40 people on my friends list though... so small sample size.

The decision was made several months ago. Some serious study revealed that the 3-day and 7-day bans did very little to reform people. If you received a 3-day ban, the odds were very very high that you would go on to receive a 7-day ban and then a 14-day ban. Knowing that you had several strikes meant that people did not care at all until they received what they felt was a final warning. So by going straight to 14, hopefully some people will immediately try to reform rather than ruining games for a few hundred more people than necessary.
