Losing LP in ranked games when a team member is AFK...

Hey all!
I played a ranked game the other day where 1 of my team members (mid lane) never showed up, so my team was down 4v5 from the beginning. And after 7 minutes of play, our support quit as well, and neither of them returned.
Now, I get that sometimes crap happens, and for whatever reason, your internet sucks or whatever, but this is completely unacceptable, especially in ranked games. My idea is that if a team member never connects to the game, or is disconnected for a certain % of the game, the members of that team shouldn't lose LP, except for the MIA player.
I'm not really sure what exactly I'm expecting out of this post, but I would love for your feedback/support in having Riot look into this issue further.
