Should Riot hold a contest for summoners creating their own skin ideas?

I strongly believe Riot should let the community sketch skin ideas for their favorite champions. It could be a contest like the comic contests they hold. As a reward they could create the top 5 or so top rated skins and put them in the game. As an award, Riot could give the creators the skins they created(and the champion if the creator doesn't own the champion, if possible). I think it would get the league community even more involved. What do you think?

I think they should :D they have some great skins but it would be awesome if they let some players make their own skins for some champions, it would really show that Riot cares about their players and their feed back.

It would be engaging than just playing LoL and well increase the popularity and incentive to engage in LoL related activities like the pumpkin contest and such.

it would be great, but on the other hand. i can not draw for crud, but i have some very good ideas for skins.

Although the contest idea is new, Riot has drawn from the community before. surprise Party Fiddlesticks, Pop-star Ahri and upcoming skin (no ETA in any form) Dragon Master Swain are examples of skins that originated from community members. The simple fact is that if you get enough people behind an idea then Riot will do it because so many people want it.

That being said, if Riot themselves hosted a kind of global skin tournament that would be awesome. Unfortunately I could imagine that would not only set expectations for a skin before it was released but strain an already overtaxed skins team.

I actually really like this. they could honestly just do it once a season. sure you can get backup from the community, but it can be hard to get your idea out there for more than like 10 people to see.
