Supports get treated like garbage

I've always loved playing support because I think its a key role in any team. You can be the leader of a team and carry the team by healing ally's or setting up plays for them. I began playing support back when I was sum lvl10 and it taught me a lot of things about league. I got to watch how other played while still being in the middle of the action. I loved Thresh and I was very happy when I would get praise for a nice hook for just being friendly in general.

Eventually I moved on into other lanes like mid and top not touching support for at least a month. One day I decided to get back onto support because I remembered how much fun I thought it was. I got on Thresh and the game started ok until the adc decided I wasn't doing enough. They pinged me every bush they wanted warded, told me every item I needed to get in what order and got super pissed if I did something they way I wanted to. I played a few games after and I was left feeling like garbage.

I realized that doing your best in league wasn't enough for some people. You can have a good score like 0/2/15 but god help you when you mess up on a play and someone dies. You could be the nicest player, you always try to point out something good in other players, defuse conflicts between teammates but that's not good enough if you didn't get ur adc fed or if you didn't ward enough. Don't get me wrong if the support isn't warding or isn't doing their job for the heck of it then screw them.

I guess for some people supports are just slaves. I can understand not everyone's going to play or appreciate the job of a support but please don't treat supports like a slave. I have had games were we just lost every lane and winning was just not going to happen and while the nexus turrets go down someone says some crap like "god our ******* support didn't ult when I was about to die'' Even though if you did ult it wouldn't have meant anything and in reality they just want someone to pin the blame on and the support was the first thing they thought of.

I main support like I used to but I still play it a lot. I honestly think everyone should try support, you can learn tons and even if you don't I can at least hope you gain some appreciation for the role. I know that most of this community is a bunch awesome and talented people but there is quite a large handful of people that can ruin that image. Most of the games I play are ok but one you get that one game where you just get a beat down from you're team it can ruin a day of good games.

At the end of the day I'm still going to sit through the bs in league. I just wanna have a good time like the rest of you. So I'm not saying bend over for ya support I'm just saying appreciate whether that be not flaming them or giving them an honor after the game is up to you.

Thank you for reading this far if you did. Sorry if my English was poor as I typed this up pretty quick. Thresh

Note this happens in every role and not just support.

Supports don't get treated like garbage if they're on a premade team hint hint wink wink :D

editYour story is that of low elo in any role( just saying)(imo) you can be the best player, but then you have expectations from your team to keep being the best. any mistake is going to trigger low elo players

This is actually good advice for those who love to flame supports. Maybe they should try playing support a few times so they can see what it's like and as you mentioned, gain some appreciation for what supports go through. I'm a support main myself and sometimes I get a good team but of course, sometimes I get teammates who want to blame everything on the support; especially ADCs. I could be, like, 0/0/6 by min 10 and my ADC could be like 4/4/1 and they will blame me for each and every one of their deaths and say I'm a terrible support when really, they were making terrible plays and don't know when to engage and disengage or they go into a 1v3 (enemy jg ganked) when I'm at base. Like, really?!

Do what I do. Play an extremely off meta support. I play Darius JarvanIV and Aatrox bot regularly . Doesn't always work, but it usually does.

I feel ya man. Thankfully i get really lucky and don't get too many horrible people playing adc. But the few times i play other lanes i see it happen a lot. I do my best to help out said abused support.

One day, maybe people will stop seeing supports as whipping boys/girls and as an actual valuable member of the team.
