In need of Insight on matter

In a strong growing E-sport, such as league of legends, there is a benefit to having high levels of skill. The employees at RIOT even thought that it would be appropriate to reward those skilled players at the end of each season with simple things such as borders and a special skin not buy-able by the general community because skill should be rewarded right? well, what happens when a player lacking skill desires that special VICTORIOUS skin that RIOT promises to the higher tiers for accomplishing the feat of GOLD status? i know to a large portion of the community, gold isn't the crem de la crem, but is it okay for someone to buy ELO just to get a skin and a border? I want to know what the community thinks on the matter, and i really hope a Riot Employee can clear up this matter. i have an example that has a high probability of being such a case.

its pretty much a joke, gold means nothing hell diamond means nothing all bad players. Nobody but the challenger players deserve a skin/ something "victorious" otherwise you are just giving a participation medal to every idiot who ques up for ranked.

Riot does not like boosting, and they have ways to catch anyone who does get Elo boosted. Idk what their ways are, but the punishments for Elo boosting is not being able to qualify for any ranked rewards, and I think you lose any ranked rewards you had from previous seasons, as well as receiving a suspension.

So no, it is not okay for someone to "buy" Elo.
