Hard to see Riot as "Community Focused" with the games IP System

I've been playing this game since season 2 and I love how much Riot talks with the community and the cool projects they do for us.

But honestly, their defense of the economy (rune system, IP rates, Champion costs, etc) is pretty ridiculous. Been here for 4 years and I still am not even close to owning all the champions. Pretty unconscionable honestly. Currently grinding IP to get Hecarim since I liked him on free week and it is really boring.

Also, the sheer lack of a priority on a reply system is baffling.

Hope Riot has something coming up soon in the pipeline for these issues. Glad we are getting better servers for the East coast but it took way too long. At least Riot seems to get there in the end, albeit way to late.

IP costs are certainly super high, I'm in the same season 2 boat and own probably 50 or so champions. But to be honest, I don't mind it. Sure it's a pain grinding 6300 ip for someone new, but the way I see it, playing league for IP isn't really what it's about anyways. We play for the matches, not what we can buy after them. Sure, sometimes we just want to rush some games to pick up something new, but it's not something we should really be doing often. So much more than what you can gain with IP is what you can gain by just devoting a lot of time and attention to a champion, learning all of their tricks and quirks. That's how I mained the old ryze and xerath a few seasons, and it was awesome!

I guess what this rambling old guy is trying to say is that, I enjoy league a lot more when I'm trying to learn and gain skill than when I'm trying to win and unlock new runes/champs. And the Ip just comes on it's own with time when you play that way.

I would really really love to see a better UI for messaging players and getting/sending/responding to notifications in the main lobby, though.
