I'm currently working on a smurf account on the oceania server and on that account I main support. But the problem is I don't know which support I should save up for since Braum and Thresh are both equally good in their own ways, so I decided to get a second opnion from you guys. Anyways post down below on which champ you think I should pick.

Get both. No, seriously. Find a way to get both. Both serve different purposes and are best picked in different situations. Thresh is a good all-around pick, but when you need to go defensive, he doesn't have the sheer brick-wall/defensive capabilities that Braum has.
Both of them can make okay plays on their own.
If I absolutely have to pick one I'd do Braum. He can make plays and be a primary tank if he has to if he gets ahead or he can be a very strong peeling champion. His ult is very clear initiation and E can guarantee you block shit for your team. His whole kit can be used for peeling or initiation very well depending on what you have to do.
Thresh is slightly more team reliant when he makes plays than Braum only because Lantern is fairly important to utilize. Braum can at least proc his own passive if he absolutely has to.
competitive play with a premade team the best support is definitely thresh.
solo Q the best support is nami who has great CC and disengage with healing powers for the ADC.
Morgana.
Thresh, Braum, Morgana, Nami are the best supports. Personally, I love to use Leona over them though, because of her OP stunlock, engage/disengage tools and tankiness. You can basically disable the complete enemy team in teamfights by landing a good ult and then exhausting the adc and stunning the apc with your q. You can win teamfights entirely on your own and your team can faceroll without problems. You can even tank the carries' skillshots with your e-shield if your team shouldn't be able to clean everybody up. You're also pretty good at kiting and baiting enemies. Yeah, I love her.
Why not Sona? Walk around poking people for 20%-30% of their HP or 40%-50% with Crescendo? Low Rank and Low Elo, you want to be able to self carry, even as a support.
Braum is too specialized to be the best all-around support. He's really good at defending and really bad at attacking. He does have good synergy with Lucian and Tristana, so that's nice for current meta.
They're both pretty good, but I'd say that currently, Janna and Nami are better.
both are amazing supports, but i feel like braum is better, its close but braum is a better baby sitter, his q range is almost as good if not as good as threshs q, and his passive is just insane, you can max his w second and give it to your adc, if you have an adc like graves, with his passve he becomes very tanky, and his utl is just amazing in teamfights.
if you take braum + lucian you can dominate bot lane, both passives together are just crazy strong.
Thresh. I find Braum too easy to beat.
