@Riot: Would you consider granting XP for custom solo games?

I understand that the vast, main target audience of LoL and similar games are the multiplayer fans. However, for me it is far more pleasant and enjoyable to play alone (with bots) against bots, at my own leisure and speed.

I have been told that at one time you could get both XP and IP playing such. Sadly, as I see it that is no longer the case. I can absolutely understand that IP would not be offered this way since abuse would be far to easy. I just think that granting XPs in such a game would do little to reduce the income of Riot, would hardly mean anything to the Multiplayers (I promise, I won't invade your games, I know my lack of skill ;) )and would help that small group of players like myself who are greatly impressed by and interested in your game, but don't feel comfortable playing with or against other people for a variety of reasons.

As I see it, the only alternative would be for me to play in normal games to make Level 30 for the runes and the masteries. This is not a course I would enjoy to pursue, and I'm reasonably sure that, given as stated that I'm not a good player and do not function terribly well in a team environment, most of my team mates wouldn't like me feeding the opposition and thereby ruining their game in the process.

So, please consider a change to the current setup. It would be much appreciated.

I think the reason that they don't allow xp specifically in custom games is that it would be too easy to abuse and farm accounts to level 30 without actually 'playing'. There's also the expectation that you actually get some type of experience, which is lessened in formats such as the one you're playing. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, I'm just speculating as to why it's not currently that way.

I do know that you can get exp and IP points from regular bot games (You and four other players vs Bots). From my experience, these players are really nice and the smurf account will give you tips if you ask. I think you should give it a try.

As for PvP, I think you're being a bit hard on yourself. Being level 5, I'm assuming that you're relatively new to the game which isn't a bad thing. You'll get better as get more experience with the game under your belt, and there shouldn't be a terribly large expectation for you to be legendary 15 minutes into the game. That being said, PvP is a great way to improve and I hate that you feel like you're ruining the game for others just by playing. You seem really nice.

TL;DR Do regular bot games for exp/ip, it's the same difficulty as customs. Don't beat yourself up just for being new, you'll get better AND SHOW THEM ALL, so try out PvP every once in awhile.

This likely wont be implemented because of people power leveling accounts with bots to gain referral RP and then later selling the accounts. I've actually come across one such bot account before of a very helpful Soraka bot that would just constantly follow me healing and giving mana. It wouldn't leave my side unless I died first then it would just stand there as it was being attack and eventually died. I reported it after the game but it was nice to have such a helpful lane partner.

I see about the referral abuse, I didn't consider that. Maybe making it so that characters without an adequate number of normal / ranked games are not eligible for referrals could solve this.

It's just that I'm not comfortable in social situations (including, as you can guess, multi-player formats), and I would hate to negatively affect other people's time playing by bringing their game down and not pulling my weight. That's why I'm looking for some options outside and hope that Riot might pick it up.

Perhaps limit it to 1 game per day that grants XP.

Anyway, thanks for your replies, maybe I'll try vs. bots one day, when I feel like I have at least a reasonable farming balance and grasp of 2 or 3 champions.
