Why is the jungle always blamed for a loss?

I just finished a match where I was supposed to mid but of course someone says "I'm already locked in..." So I didn't want to argue because it is pointless. I just went jungle(which I'm pretty good at.) Our Xin Zhao was top and fed Darius in the first 5 minutes. I went to help, then everyone started pinging for assistance and wanted ganks. I tried to help as much as I could, but it caused me to spend less time in the jungle and get behind. Skip to the end of the match where Xin blamed me. Xin went 4/17/ and I don't remember the amount of assists. I went somethinks like 2/5/8. He got mad when I ran from 2 enemies who were 2 levels higher than me. In the end he blamed me for the loss despite him having the most deaths and fed Darius the most. Why do people always blame the jungle for their failure?

Because people don't like being at fault

If you actually care, there are a few reasons.

  1. Other than towers, the jungler is the one who will win or lose the other objectives. You have no dragons because the jungler wasted his smite on red buff or couldn't watch timers and get it? The enemy jungler smote stole the baron buff, or other things.

  2. The jungler is the one who is there to ensure lanes get to their optimal spot to do their jobs. MOST junglers arent going to carry the game, and if your mid carry got ganked and is now losing and you just go "ha, noob, dont blame me for you losing lane" then you just gimped your team from a carry. You cant except every lane to win every game.

Here is my evaluation of junglers with your attitude. You only win when all your lanes win and win the game for you and you lose EVERY time your lanes dont carry you. Here is a secret, killing the jungle camps does nothing to actually win the game, that isnt your job. If you think you did your job just because you killed gromp, then youre a bad jungler.

jungler has the greatest strategic impact on the game. unless his laners all get severely outplayed then a huge part of the early-midgame success lies in the junglers hands.

obviously it can happen that all lanes lose, or 2/3 lose without any chance to save them. its not always the junglers fault. but you can do more to save a losing game early on as the jungler than any other role.
