(Personal Poll) Who has been a victim of verbal harassment during a match?

Hello my name is TheBellWitch and I've noticed something recently that has me very concerned. I will begin by saying that when I was first introduced to the game, I was very impressed with the structure of the community and such, with things such as "The Summoner's Code of Conduct" and having repercussions for not being a good teammate (helping others when needed, following the structure of matches, being friendly, etc.) however recently I have noticed that nearly every match I have played in, there is at least one teammate who verbally harasses one or more players, and without fear of repercussion. As a result, this has made me and others feel very unwelcomed in the community to the point that we become so discouraged that we stop playing for the rest of the day. Personally if this continues with me, I will be forced to stop because there's no point in subjecting myself to something like that, that will ruin the game for me, when I can play another game where an admin will immediately ban someone on a server for similar violations. I want to know your thoughts on this and if you'd like to see changes in the way people are punished for verbal harassment/bad attitudes/etc.

Overall they have been more agressive when it comes to stuff like this. Bans are more common nowadays and they reward good behavior now.

Sadly though you are right that flamer and so on are still rather common,its especially jarring if they even act like "muhaha i was never banned before,so its no use to report me",so I hope that they become a bit more strict in this matter.

I've been harassed a few times. Mostly I just let it wash over me. I know that 0.5% of the people harassing me would do it in a public place, but the fact that I'm just a faceless entity on the internet gives them a lot of false confidence and pride.

As others have said, mute can be your friend if it really bothers you. My solution is just to picture that the person harassing me is some 300 lbs, pimple faced lardball sitting in the basement of his parents house and playing LoL because no one wants to be physically within 200 feet of him. I know that the image isn't real, but it makes it extremely easy to laugh at the ragers when you picture the words they are typing come out of a person who looks like that.

After all, if they were mature adults who deserved respect, they wouldn't act like complete douchebags.

I'm sure there are times where I would have or even possibly have been harassed, however every time someone shows how much of an ass they are in chat I mute them.

What did you do OP...

At this point Im more for the "Verbal Abusers" since they are in the right most of the time.

So what did you do.. Feed? Troll? Build like shit?

Were you in a ranked game? If not then you're in the right, just mute and report after the game. If you were then you're in the wrong more than likely and should go back to bots and stay there for a long time.
