FREE XJ9 team and 9JX

So first of all, yes, I am an XJ9 fan, or at least a fan of his gameplay, so I have his facebook page liked. That being said, a comment on his page called to my attention a player called 9JX. This guy is Challenger 1, rank 20, playing champions XJ9 used to play. He's also on a team called FREE XJ9, which is also challenger. What do you guys think? Is this XJ9? If so, where do you stand on the XJ9 situation? As a fan, I am, of course, in favor of him being unbanned, but there's no need to be aggressive about that, it's just my opinion (so no mean comments pl0x). My reasoning is that he's learned his lesson, at least enough to be better than everyone I see in solo queue all the time; sure he still spams, but he's just desperate. Mostly though, I'd be excited to see him play in the professional scene; especially if this is him, which would destroy the argument that hi tactics were only good in season two solo queue.

...XJ9 has fans? I mean I remember watching him...what, two years ago? When Thresh came out, he tried jungle Thresh. Yeah.

Dude's nutty, and not in the "oh that's silly" sorta way. He needs help. I hope he's getting help. I hope he is not still lurking around League of Legends, hoping to be relevant or even a player again. I hope he's well since moved on and gotten his life in a healthier place.

I think that's why still follow him really; I sort of pity him. There is no doubt in my mind that he's mentally unhealthy; anyone who actually followed him back then could see that. This ties into my pity in multiple ways.

  1. He has not moved on. He's been fixated on being like by the community for so long its sad. One of the biggest things that ever got me was when he said something close to, "I could be big now, but instead my parents are calling me a loser." That's the gist of it at least. The guy dropped out of high school and invested everything into the game, then lost it on a dumb decision. Could you imagine? Imagine if you invested into a college degree, but you plagiarized one paper due to emotional upset. I know someone who was in that boat, and it took them around a decade to get a job after the fact. It might seem like too much of a comparison, but this guy gave up his education and his future for this game. His name is on the internet if any employer of college looked into it, even if he did get a GED and tried to move on. He got close to his dream, then he fcked up.

  2. Was what he did really that stupid? First of all, you must remember this guy is unhealthy. If you ever followed his life on facebook you would see that most of his "friends" are just people making up sob stories to abuse him. It's terrible. I have no doubt in my mind his "girlfriend" was such a person. That being ignored though, as there is no evidence, you need to look at what happened. The famous thought is "Nudes for a Lee Sin game? Wtf?" That's terribly shallow. The two had an understanding that, if she really hated him, she would play Lee Sin. She played Lee Sin while essentially cheating on him in a way. That would upset anyone. His actual ban was for hacking/elo boosting if I remember right (not googling it). Many pros have elo boosted, and just got a slap on the wrist. Hacking? She gave him her password; that's not hacking. The point of a justice system should bring justice; on paper it looks worse than it is. The nudes have nothing to do with LoL; it's not under their authority to judge that factor.

  3. Are we stopping people from enjoying a game because they're mentally unstable? Because that's what it seems like. Sure, what he did was wrong. That being said, I know a couple others personally who have done similar, discounting the nudes. Sharing an account is nothing new amongst IRL friends. The main argument people have is that he's not healthy, and thus should not play. Seriously. WTF. This guy was never toxic to anyone. He never hurt anyone in the community. Sure there were a few things like faking a gender, or posting troll comments. But really? Enough to stomp on one's dream? That's like preventing a kid with down syndrome from playing Monopoly with you because he freaks you out.

  4. I had a friend IRL who had a similar sort of condition once. These people take their interests very seriously. I'm no doctor, so I don't know the science behind it, but I can't imagine what it would be like to have stopped my friend from playing Yu-Gi-Oh. I wouldn't be able to stand it. I think of my friend when I think of XJ9.

  5. The guy is just a 13 year old in his mindset. We've all been where he was. He just thinks he knows the world; that he's right, and he wants others to be like him. When I was 13? Drinking is terrible, swearing is terrible. Premarital sex? I feel sad when I look at you, because you were such a nice girl, but now I could never date you. I have to show people the right way. He lacks mental maturity. That is all. Do we stop young people from playing this game? One does not reach maturity unless they can reflect on aspects of everyday life, which he clearly has a problem doing.

I'm sorry, I don't know enough about XJ9 to really follow this whole conversation. I'm sorry dreams don't always work out. I hope he finds peace of mind, but I very much don't believe it will be here.

I don't really either; sort of put up this thread to make sure XJ9 isn't forgotten. I wish there were more direct ways of addressing Riot, not that I think I could sway their opinion anyway. It just feels like an injustice when you dissect the reasoning behind everything; it has always frustrated me how legal systems can be so inhuman at times. Like in that case with the Texan boy who made an obviously sarcastic comment on the internet and got put in jail for it, and had to b bailed out by a generous Anon (even that was in LoL).

No, no unbanning XJ9, being good at the game doesn't excuse all his trolling, flaming, and the shit he did irl.
