Please Fully Address the Removal of IP and XP from Custom Games

IP and XP gains were removed from custom games not at least half filled with human players a number of months ago now. This has seriously disrupted the play of many of the more casual players of League of Legends.

In the above thread, it was noted by a Riot employee, Brackhar, that it would take you about a week to get the data you needed to evaluate the change. This was on September 9th, 2013. It is now January 9th, 2013. It has been 4 months now, quite a bit longer than one week.

I'm bringing this up here because this change has seriously cramped my ability to play, enjoy, and progress in LoL. It has negatively impacted many others, some for similar reasons, some for very different reasons.

For myself, I can very rarely commit to playing the whole game through. I can usually commit to probably making it through (with 60-70% certainty), which makes it totally worth playing a game, but not jumping into a match with other players and possibly ruining their game. Yeah, I could play and get no ip, but the fact is, I'm not made of money, and while I've spent a decent chunk of change on the game, without ip to supplement my spending, there's no real way I'm going to reach my goals in this game. Plus, I often just don't feel like getting yelled at for not playing a perfect game.

What it comes down to is pvp matches are not their thing, or they are not able to commit an appropriate amount of time to those matches. Before, we had an option for that. It was custom games played against bots. Now we don't. For those of us who have supported LoL in the past, particularly financially, this feels like a huge bait and switch. We once had a game we could enjoy, and we put money into it so we could enjoy it more. Now that has been taken away, which feels like a waste of time and money. I'd like to see LoL come back to a point where I can enjoy it again and not have wasted that time and money.

Please stop hiding from this issue. It's not going away. Actually address this. We want to come back to LoL and enjoy it again. Return IP and XP to custom games, even for solo players, or give us the real reasoning behind the switch. If the real reason is the refer-a-friend issues, then why can't the suggestions that have been provided in threads all over the forum be used to fix the refer-a-friend issues until the program itself can be fixed, allowing legitimate players to continue enjoying the game.

For me it isn't a time thing. I have only played a handful of multiplayer games. The reason behind that is that I have never been one that was truly competitive and I guess it shows. I would get abused for being a newb or for making poor choices. It wasn't that I was getting my feelings hurt or too thin skinned it was that I was trying to have fun and it was apparently ruining the fun of my team so I stopped playing team games and just played solo ones vs bots. I enjoyed that. I got to us cool characters to do cool things and enjoy the game. Occasionally I would get enough points to buy a new character and would feel like it had been worth my time. Now I get nothing for playing. Since there are other games I like more and they do reward me for my time I feel like LOL has decided that my presence isn't worth it. Part of me understands it since I am not the player they are aiming at. The other part of me is kind of sad that I never got enough to buy this or that character and grow my collection. I would like to continue playing the game but I have no incentive to so until things change I will be spending my gaming time elsewhere. I hope to have a reason to come back someday.

For those of you who have been following this thread please send an email to that address so that we can potentially give Riot some bad publicity (which after neglecting and lying to us they deserve). Maybe we can just embarrass Riot enough so that they can finally make the right decision.

I can tell you the likely issue behind having xp/ip given to solo people in custom games is botting. People could setup bots/scripts to just play custom games while they are away for xp/ip instead of actually playing.

Play co-op v AI. People there generally don't care what you do, and you can always put the bad people on mute so you dont have to see what they say. Games egerally last 20-40 minutes, how can you not dedicate that much time to one thing?

I quit this game when they did this. It was better farming customs than playing with the whiny community in normals. Sadly I've fell in love with Dota 2 with help from Riot. I wouldn't even consider playing this at all again if they don't fix the solo custom game issue.

Lol has one of the worst communities I've ever run into...
