Buying Champion Chest = No Champion

Hey all,

Does anyone have any rationale as to why I should have to have 3 champion shards, or a bunch of blue essence, to unlock a champion from a champion chest that I buy? I think it's a little overkill to make someone go through so much work to unlock a champion from the loot system. I know Riot likes people to buy champions with RP; however, if that's the case, then why is the loot system here in the first place? Just let us unlock a champion when we buy the shard, we shouldn't have to farm loot items for a month to get a champion, otherwise there is literally no incentive to use the loot system and we may as well just farm all the IP to buy the champion...
