I think Riot should host more events like this and much more frequently. I also remember the double IP weekend, which was enjoyable and led me to new champions that I now love to play. Upvote this and get some Rioter comments, and we might just pull it off. We could also use these events as an incentive for players to be more positive and reduce trolling, intentional AFKs, and toxicity. More fun for everyone!

i thought this happens every year and it is already an effort to reduce trolling I know its the reason why my friend doesn't troll as much as he did as lvl 20

They've already said they plan on having various gift events on an intermittent basis. They won't be announced ahead of time because then people could just behave when they know they're about to get a reward, but act like asshats when it's not gifting time.

They recently mentioned they want to have random prizes for people who have stayed out of trouble since the last perk. It's a known psychological effect that casinos exploit: People want rewards, and will engage in the rewarded behavior more consistently because the uncertanty means it might be the next game, or the next or maybe the game after that...

And they reset everyone so that people who have missed out on previous rewards will be less likely to decide it doesn't matter how they act, they've already screwed themselves out of the rewards.
