Becoming a better player

I always end up on the team that loses in a lot of my online games. I do ok in the beginning of the game. Then, all of a sudden ill die because another enemy lane will come invade mine after killing a teammate so many times. I'm trying to get better. But its hard when all i know is the taste of defeat. I just want to know how i can become a better player and help the team win a game. I usually play top or jungle. I just want to be able to place well when i start my ranked games. Can anyone help me?

Well... I guess you could start off with actually buying proper items, and not having 40 minute+ games where you still don't have boots, especially on immobile champions.

I'm guessing you're talking about laning? Keep wards up as much as possible. If you have some extra cash after buying a item, get a ward. Place the ward in the river bush if possible. When I'm top, I like to place my ward a little deeper in the river so that I have more time to react to a gank.

Check your minimap regularly to see if anyone is walking past your ward. Alertness is key to staying ahead of your opponents.

Also if someone in another lane is not on your minimap, play defensively. They could be coming your way.
