All the people saying the new Gangplank is fat have clearly never seen what exceptionally strong men look like. Large men with uber-well defined muscles are not actually stronger. Quite the contrary, the strongest men do not have a 6-pack of muscles, they have a keg. Remember a week ago when people were saying that the Fiora rework made her look like a 70-year-old Michael Jackson? They were right in that its certianly looked strange and not much like Fiora, but to say she looked elderly and hideous was a serious overstatement. Defined cheekbones and a thinner face hardly make for an unattractive person.

And now they're calling the strongest dude on the rift "fat"

People get their ideas of muscle from body sculpting, which is an entirely different thing, and a relatively novel thing. I've even tried to explain to a friend of mine that without specialized training and equipment, it's pretty much impossible to get Bowflex abs.

I have a reference chart of various Olympic athletes from every sport from hammer toss to curling. For the strength-involved sports, the athletes are very bulky with little muscle definition. They have muscle; you just can't see most of it. Even in movies depicting hunky beefsteaks (Thor, Troy, 300, Wolverine) they don't have the kind of body tone you've come to expect based on Bowflex commercials. They have a LOT of muscle definition, but that's as much tone as you're going to get without outright specializing in it, and people building for strength are not going to focus on tone, and vice versa.

So yeah, Gangplank looks fat because people are stupid and don't know what REAL muscle and strength looks like. He's not fat; he's BARREL chested.

I knew that. However, his previous model (captain Gangplank) he looked comparatively fit instead of stocky.

He seems to have just gotten way more barrel chested in the few weeks he's been laying low, which is weird as hell.

In captain gangplank, he just look proportioned slightly cartoony, but average in terms of build, I would say. In his new default skin, his belly sticks out noticeably more, whilst his upper body is just barely larger.

Also, look at his fuckin' man boobs in the new skin compared to his rippling pecs in the old one. How the fuck do they split apart so much in a few weeks?

The thing most people in this thread seemed to have missed is that a certain amount of fat in the body is good and helps the body function properly. So the op isn't entirely right because the person in his post is very very very strong but at the same time he has a healthy amount of fat which is quite a bit for a man of his size. The view of ripped abs isn't actually particularly healthy and as such limits the amount of muscle that can be built. So someone with defined muscle tone will definitely be strong they will not reach the level of someone who is just trying to get as strong as possible.
