My New Experience in the Silver ELO

If you are like me you find league to be a some-what abusive relationship. First you love it, then it abuses you by putting you with flamers and people who make mistake after mistake... If most of you are like me this is all you do everyday all day in your free time. I won't lie. It is. Gaming has always been what I do and I try my hardest in every game to get fed and carry the game. I want to be the guy people look up to and say, I want to be that....

Story time kiddos: Least season I squeaked my way into silver 5 so I could get the boarder, right? Its nice and all so this season i set my sights on Gold like a large majority of players. My games were going just how they always had been. Back and fourth, eye for an eye, fighting tooth and nail over kills and such. I feel that Silver 5 was the last time I actually played with a "team." Now that sounds rude and it is, but allow me to explain why i say this. In Bronze 2 to Silver 4 I noticed things were starting to really come together. People were grouping, tanks were tanking, dps was doing their thing too. However, I noticed a huge shift in game play and general "feel" of the game. It felt a lot more serious. People don't make so many mistakes and such to punish for, that being said it is a lot harder to secure a kill.

One of THE most notable things in Silver 3 (that has hindered any progress what so ever) is the fact that one team seems to get completely steam rolled our of the game. It usually First blood and first tower that angle the game in the enemies favor, for that people should play passive. Most of the time they do... I try... I don't do well at it but I try, in fact, its almost like i become too safe. This causes me to camp my tower until the jungler hopefully ganks for me (happens some times). Personally, I spend a very large majority of my downtime (when not playing league or working) watching youtube league videos. Some for fun: Sp4zie, Acclamator/Yannipir most for educational: ScrapComputer, gbay99, Fox Drop (here and there), and Sky Williams (relevant?)

That being said I know a lot about the do's and don'ts Team comps that have a tank (yes you can skimp by without them as long as you get super duper duper fed... ) for MIA's (pinging lanes and face checking a freaking bush, will come back to this) Team Fights (grouping, numbers, gold advantage, ect) When to take baron when not to When/where to ward i could go on but we all know most of this stuff anyway......

My point is that if there is zero vision any where because they clear it out when its put down why go into it for that lee sin that just hopped a wall half-trying. That right there should be a huge red flag. If he stands for a second or lets you think you can catch him just stop chasing right?.... Now don't get me wrong, I'm not here to flame some plays I've seen but I've noticed this to be the biggest mistake people in Silvers make. Why? I don't know... Maybe because everyone thinks they have to carry themselves... And I don't blame them. I want to carry my self out too. However, If the team needs tanks, be a tank and soak that dmg. If the team needs more cc and a tank, be a leo, naut, ali, or blitz. That's literally a headache worth of cc in one of each of those champs. yet I see nothing but brands, morgs, velkoz and so on, that provide little utility to a fight, no shields, little cc, but of course they can do damage. I can respect that to a degree. I draw the line when they get poked and can't out trade the damage being out put. I draw it where when i sit and tell someone something is about to happen they go to it anyway desperately trying to steal drag or baron, to ultimately get killed and lost dragon. or chase one kill and it cost you deaths on your team. I don't know.... maybe I'm tilted... but things like this sort of make the whole team comp super risky while it can be avoided.

I've hit a very hard wall and don't really know what that wall is or what to fix... I'm always watching for mistakes and stuff I make so I don't make them again. But there come the time in the game where 4 people go on a man hunt for that wild lee sin to find a surprise party bush with the whole other team. Since I figure something dumb like that is about to happen I chose not to follow (when we are behind in almost all objectives) and instead I sit under the tower and farm. My team then flames me in chat saying how I threw the game for not being in the fight and how I had been feeding or doing anything and everything wrong. I can't seem to find any right or wrong answer to these questions because It is SO situational. It feels like I really AM the problem in my games because everyone on my team and the other team call me bad, game after game, win or loss. If I am bad I don't see how.. My KDA looks pretty solid most of the time considering things that might have happened (like getting caught out, picked because of unknown vision, jungler ganks, dives, ect) Are people just flaming because they are in my situation? How do I end up on that team that steam rolls the s*** out of the other team? Are there actually a ton of plat/diamond smurfs or are they just some people that got good at someone and had a ton and a half of luck picking up FB or snowballing?

Just looking for some out side perspective on this for thoughts and how to address my issues.. Thanks for reading sorry it was long.

It is one of 2 things:

A) you are getting better and started to notice actual mistakes that you didn't see before. B) you started to do drugs

I played in bronze. Ppl have no clue what is going on, no pings, wards, cooperation... anything. I had to play AP Annie support and crush the lane taking all the kills to get out. Because my adc was not going to do it and the rest of the team neither.

Now I am in high silver.mechanics are getting somewhat better, some ppl use pings, sometimes ppl take objectives and rarely they even use chat for real comm7nication instead of usual "omfg wtf stfu kid". And I dont have to play Annie anymore. I can supp with supports I enjoy like tanks or utility. No need for dmg.

Sure it is not ideal and it is far from even mediocre.... but it is no way worse than bronze as you are saying.
