My Response to the New Client forced upgrade

So Riot released an announcement about how everyone will be upgraded to the new League Client on 24 April. Here's the link: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/riot-official/RorgOxwt-legacy-client-officially-retires-april-24

After reading their announcement, and the mostly negative response from Boards members, I felt like this was the best response to both. Here's a small portion of the announcement that I think is the key to this entire argument.

Here is the problem with keeping both clients. Even though there are a lot of problems with the new client, it's way too hard to fix anything or develop anything new with 2 clients. Everything they are trying to do is slowed down massively because they have to make changes to both clients. Reducing everyone down to just one client would make things so much easier for them. Obviously they can't get rid of the new client, so the old one has to go.

I'd like to highlight a part of the paragraph I posted above as well.

Pardon the mouse-highlight job. Apart from the fact that going from 2 clients to 1 would make development a lot faster, they have stated that the new client is much easier and much faster to develop new features with. This means that, even though we're missing a lot of features, they may come about relatively soon once the Alpha client is the only one Riot has to worry about. In theory.

"Lol there's no way they're going to get anything out soon. Rip Item Sets, won't have those until 2020, I deserve challenjour, gg."

You might be right. ######About everything except deserving challenger. :^) However, there's a good reason to believe otherwise.

######(Back at it again with the mouse-highlighting.) Let's not forget that since the new client came out, Riot has given us two features that we've been asking about for ages: Sandbox Mode and Replays. Because of the new client, they now have the technology to produce these new features, even despite the fact that both clients are out! I think this is a good indicator that Riot is right when they say that they can develop stuff more quickly on this new client as opposed to the old client.

Recap: Are there problems with the new client? Yes. Why are we being forced to upgrade? So that they can fix the new client / make new and old features. How do we know that it'll actually be faster? We don't know for sure, but due to the fact that we now have Sandbox Mode and Replays in a relatively short period of time is rather promising, and I'm willing to give it a shot.

I was about to upgrade... but the it still calls it Beta. Are they literally going to call it beta forever, or is it actually still in beta testing.
