feedback on a number of issues

warning: this is by no means a short note I have nearly 20 years of beta testing behind me, I'm a web/internal company software developer, so these complains are largely based on experience both in beta testing games as well as my own development back ground.

First off, your captcha system is horrible, just to login it makes me use it on the forums, it took me 6 captchas before i got one that was legible. That is way too many, your system needs to simmer the hell down on how badly it distorts things. All of my below notes are based off of living in the solo queues, i have over 500 wins, and I'm a 50/50 kind of player so lets assume 1000+ games played.

On to my feedback. I grow eternally tired of having to fight with people or watch people fight over who will play what role once we are in the lobby. The games never go great when players argue here. Some people go by who locks in first, who says in chat first, who picked champ first who picks spells. I'm just tired of it... I'm pretty ok with letting someone have a role, so fight for me is, sucking up and playing something I didn't want to(which 75% of the time leaves me playing poorly anyways for greater chance of loss). What are my choices? Dodge? I get penalized, group gets penalized, no one wins.

This is easily fixed by two mechanisms.

  1. I click play, I get matched with 5 teammates in a pre match lobby, here we can chat for a few minutes before locking in we are ready and then as a group taken to to the match window for champion selection. No dodge penalty applied if I leave that prematch window.

  2. Champ spells should not dictate your role. People become wishy washy in where they are going. Perhaps a drop down with the role the player wants to do: Top Jungle etc

  3. Don't show champion spells until the player locks in. For example someone who jungled in a prior game comes in with smite, match makings starts and up comes smite... prompting who ever is going to jungle to question if this person is trying to out jungle them. Of course once locked, we can begin questioning motives.

  4. Ranked banning is a clear lesson in bad presentation. As I am mousing over the champions, their spell/abilities pop up on the bottom of the window, blocking view of team chat. I have seen several times as I'm going to ban a champ, only to ban them, regain view of chat to see a teammate ask for them not to be banned.

  5. Clicking a champ from match making to see their spells and abilities, doesn't give you the details of the spell. It gives you the pretty note on the spell but not what it does, does the spell gain from my attack damage or ability power? who knows from that window because it's not there. what increase do the different ranks? who knows again...

  6. ability to see your champs stats in matchmaking ie run speed crit etc from runes, masteries etc. 6a. mousing over a teammate should show their stats too.

  7. being able to see who gave you honor from a match, and go back into prior matches and honor folks - sometimes i get click happy and forget to honor folks and click play again before honoring, and feel bad when I see i got some and didn't reciprocate.

  8. when building item sets.. how about a feature that, once all items in a row have been bought it collapses down to a button that expands it out if you need to see it again.

  9. left over exp boosts after reaching 30, could we have these converted to ip boosts or something? My account has had exp boosts for over a year and they just sit there doing nothing.

  10. age brackets, ever seen the oatmeal cartoon about the child army approaching (warning foul language etc : http://theoatmeal.com/comics/online_gaming , as a 34yr old gamer, I'm tired of living it, and I hate being their babysitter. I'd like to be able to play with older folks who want want the same, who are there to have fun, and doing go into a "omg you f*ing noob wtf are you doing", who understand its a game and that we are there to have fun and relax after a day of work etc). At the end of my day, I relaxed, ignored a lot of morons, and got some IP.

  1. Aram : I understand the goal, but there are champions I have that I don't ever want to play. It would be nice if there was a way not to have them in my aram pool because rolling a new account that doesn't have them is a kind of a lame dodge to this.
