A Way to handle "last pick" trolls in Ranked.
I by no means have delusions that I'm going to become an lcs player in my lifetime, I play the game to have fun. With that being said, as someone who is trying to improve, and mains the adc role, I find it in bronze and now in silver absolutely dreadful to play "marksman" in ranked. It's not the tank meta, or the assassin meta, it's the meta of whoever has last pick spamming what role they want, and when they don't get it, picking something not only non meta, but non conducive to winning whatsoever. I'll even offer "hey we can turn it in to a kill lane, just pick something you want" and even this was met with intentionally feeding and leaving the game a 5v4 after 10 min.
I think teambuilder with only a role instead of champion as many have mentioned would be a great way to remedy this, though the obvious possible abuse of someone queing "support" for a shorter que time and then picking whatever they want could certainly occur. When I am last pick I have absolutely no problem supporting, and because I'm most familiar with the bot lane, I choose to support many times when "marksman" is taken. I know many adc mains have the stigma of being me first cry babies, and I can't deny that there may be truth to it in certain circumstances with some members of the community I've encountered, but personally, I fill the support role when it is needed, with nothing other than the intention of winning.
I've played 3 ranked games tonight over 2 accounts, and every one of them I had to deal with a "support" claiming everything from "I'm a diamond smurf, top or feed!!" to "I have no support champs", and I would like another way to deal with it other than having to choose a loss in my provisional games or hoping/praying someone else dodges and loses their provisionals/potential series. There needs to be some method of having 1 free dodge over a 24 hour period that will not affect any mmr/lp. The current design as well intentioned as it is, leaves far too much power with those who just can't accept that for the next 20-60 min they might not be playing their desired role.
