So how's placements going for everyone?

Your mmr affects where you'rr put.

I'm planning to wait for a month or so for issues with the queues to get sorted out and for the initial rush of players to pass.

If I wait, many people should be at/near their appropriate rank by the time I start. This should improve the odds of getting matched with and against players at my current MMR (after the new-season reduction and placement adjustments) rather than more skilled players who haven't had a chance to climb yet.

If I'm being matched against people at my current MMR (which will be lower than my current skill level), I shouldn't have too many issues carrying my early games. I managed to reach Plat 5 in about 110 games last season (40 to Gold 4, 70 for the rest in pre-season), so it should be easy to climb against players mid-Gold and below.

Until then, I shall try to practice my current champions and learn some new ones in normal games.
