@Rito So... Screw Hawaii Then?

I don't live in NA and nor do I play on it, but checking the Boards thread about the server move, what I see most is people living on the west coast QQing, but there were also people living in Hawaii, asking Riot, how Hawaiians will be able to play LoL now?

"So i live in Hawaii... is this a good time to quit league before my ping gets worse than the 120 it already is......" "I should consider myself lucky for having had halfway decent ping for this long living in Hawaii. Time to stop playing LoL T.T (I will miss you guys)"

And on the topic of them playing on the Oceanian server: "Oceania servers are 200+ ping for me in Hawaii..."

Great that you're lowering the ping for East Coast players, and the change won't be too noticeable too the West Coast, but where will Hawaiians play now?

TL;DR: RIP Hawaiian ping, where do they play now?

Also, idk if the inhabitants of Hawaii is called Hawaiians but oh well...

As someone born and raised in Hawaii its a shame we get little to no recognition for things like this! Granted my ping isnt that bad usually staying between 90-95 but back when i started playing league years ago it was a good 50-60 ping. the sad thing is on PBE my ping has never changed and stays low, but the live client always seems to go up. its sad, but i doubt they'd do anything to fix it.

No only native hawaiians by descent are called hawaiians. We are basically screwed, my ping of 120 is bad enough. Im just gonna stop playing league

Chicago in general is going to give off a better connection overall due to it being a central hub for just about every server in the US, along with their upcoming network roadmap changes, the hit for people in Hawaii won't be as devastating, you won't see an improvement.

I mean. Their is only 1.42 million people in Hawaii and I doubt even an 8th of them play League

I'm pretty sure the only reason Riot moved the server was because they checked the numbers and saw that most of their player base was out east.

They had the option to burn down 2 houses to make 20 more comfortable. At least in terms of geographical location. They said they set it in Chicago because the service there is supposed to be amazing for servers so hopefully that will spread some mad love all the way out west to you and your northern brothers.

Can't Hawaiians use the LAN servers? or am i being incompetent at USA geography again

I would like to say sorry about that. I am an east coaster myself so I do not have a clue what you are going through.

Though perhaps a ping test is in order. If you would open your command prompt and paste this in, you could see the ping you would have:

"ping 104.160.131.1"

Without the quotes, of course.

I've been playing from Asia with 300+ ping, as long as it's stable and doesn't fluctuate, it should be playable but don't expect to make big plays unless you've got really good prediction/reaction skills, but I guess even I might be screwed at this point unless I switch servers to an asian one or maybe OCE at best. Or set up a proxy.

Out of curiosity, what's your ping on LAN, if you've tried it.
