Surrender

I feel strongly that more thought should be given to surrender times and a player's ability to exit a game. League of Legends should be an enjoyable experience which fits nicely into every player's schedule. We should be able to sit down and have some fun, not get locked into a mandatory 20 minutes of watching a team mate die repeatedly. Or of trying a surrender vote without success for 50 minutes only for the desire to not be punished for leaving game.

I love the game, I just feel that we should be given more option in our ability to stop playing. To take a break, blow off some steam and maybe come back later when we've stopped raging about how our ADC is 0/10/2 or how we haven't taken a single tower and the other team already has 4. I know that amazing come backs are possible and that late game anything can happen, but sometimes, I just don't want to suffer through 30 minutes for that faint hope.

I would like to suggest a change to surrender times or a re thinking of how surrender is done. Possibly even the penalties or alternatives for leaving game.

Thanks, WG

What's your opinion on surrender time? I feel that this issue is very hard to combat, and people can argue back and forth over different situations that may arise while playing i.e. afks, trolls, Teemo , but think of the current state of the community playing this game. I'm more worried about the tryhard, flaming summoner. Imagine surrender time being non-existent or at the 10 minute mark. If this summoner gives first blood or doesn't start well, he or she is going to be prompted to surrender as soon as possible. If their team gives first blood, doesn't start well, the synergy is off, he or she is going to be prompted to surrender as soon as possible. You can see this happening now, summoners who give up due to bad starts. A low surrender time is going to make each game look more throwawayable.

However, I understand that there are just sometimes where there is just a AFK, troll whatever that botches the game, and his duo partner are going to ride this out till 30-45min. I see that problem. I think the 20 min mark is the closest we are going to get to having a balanced system, I don't think there is such a thing as a perfect system in this situation. What do you think we should do?
