So I have been playing League of Legends for a couple if months now and noticed a lot of "You Suck" or "Kill Urself" . Usually I would just ignore this but after it started happening over and over again. I'm not sure if riot is aware to this cyber bullying but we need to do something about it. For a community project my team and I want to fix this cyber bullying problem happening in League Of Legends today.
Cyber bullying is Not okay... It doesn't matter if it's anonymous...some one is on the other end of the screen is a real live person..
Can't really say it's okay because it's competitive!! That might be the cause but it is not a good excuse.
In pro football this season a quarterback got fined for just flipping someone off...Can you imagine if he had been taped for an interview in which he said "I hope that X guys ki!!s himself and I want Y to get cancer" !!!

There are Other options...Have a Zero tolerance for such things...The day I get mad enough in any situation for ANY reason to tell some one to off themselves or wish cancer on them...is the day I quit playing or ask some one to cut out my tongue !
I've seen this a lot and, as a Moderator on another site myself, I've gotten my fair share of these to which we have a ZERO tolerance policy on it. What needs to happen is either have people moderate in-game, watch games, or have the people at Riot deal with the Tribunal cases. The problem with that, however, is that while moderators are volunteers, they'd be upheld to certain standards and if they feed, die, troll, or make bad plays, it could be terrible which it would be better if they only could moderate while spectating, taking a screenshot of chat should a player start raging, flaming, or some such. They shouldn't be given any special titles, just chosen by Riot who are active in the game and reporting. Would prevent all that possible backlash.
Actually it's why we have a report system. Problem is it seems to be too forgiving and too unforgiving at other times since the tribunal is currently disabled. Hopefully we see it re-appear soon. Riot has tried to make things better from the tribunal to their 'teamwork op' campaign videos (help struggling team members rather than flame etc). I wish they'd dive deeper into that campaign, I felt like it was working on the community.
Yep. I just try to ignore it, I mean... awhile ago I went into a game of ARAM... I got Ryze, and we already had a lot of AP so I rerolled him... Someone on my team told me to uninstall league and kill myself just because I rerolled a Ryze. I haven't run into any toxic players in awhile (yay)

EDIT: About the Football player this is a real story... they got fined 10,000$ for flipping the bird....Riot allows curse words... what they don't allow and shouldn't is such insults as ..."Go Kill Yourself" As wrote in OP.
It's the result of anonymous competitive team games. All three in combination, and it is completely unavoidable. If it's too much to deal with, your only real option is to play something without one of those; either solo, non-competitive, or you know the people personally.
Same here people told me to install or kill myself I try to ignore them but it does start to hurt, and when I played my first ranked match I didn't do so good but my team didn't need to finish the game off by saying you suck, I think if you just stick with the nice people you know it will be fine, or try to act like you don't care what they say and they might stop. Okay so I said Zero Tolerance is a way to deal with this problem, I didn't actually give my opinion as to if I'd vote yes on such a policy. I will reserve my opinion for right now.
I believe if Riot implements something where they Mod games or forum ( a player-mod type thing ) that the persons doing so should remain faceless...They should'n't have a badge or such on display. I can understand where people want to have actions taken to be transparent ( to Some extent ) , what I was thinking is if a pm takes an action then has to explain it to whomever Then maybe they could do it under a different name: IE-- PM 123.
Does that make since ? Your right about such players being held to a different standard and I'd imagine some rage at them also just because they could take action. If they are volunteers then I don't feel like they should have to take flack for being such.
I don't want to sound like that guy, but there's a report button for a reason. If someone is doing this kinda crap to you or even other players, make sure you report him. If it gets really out of hand, you can also mute said person. I'm a moderator in another community, and one think I've learned is that with animosity people think they can do whatever they want and say whatever they want because it's not really them saying, but their avatar.
Even if it's a player on your team yelling at the enemy because they all suck and the game is "gg 2 ez" it's still good to report them. Also make sure not to do that yourself, if you see someone struggling offer advice. If your jungler is getting killed by the 17 and 0 Master Yi jungler explain why building thornmail and watching Yi kill himself is the funniest thing on earth. Be that guy everyone trys to add to their friends list because they want to play with you again.
Happens quite a bit, Any time most of the time when you have an opinion or make a joke, theres always someone who gets a wild hair up their ass and starts being a complete dick. They will say things like "go kill yourself", "go punch yourself", etc., and the community votes up comments like that for some reason, especially on these boards. Honestly I'd rather deal with the assholes in game than the self-righteous pricks who claim to be better than everyone else on these boards.
