I Witnessed Something So Beautiful
In Ranked where teams vie desperately for LP and professional courtesy is a non-affordable luxy, I just came from a rare, beautiful Ranked game.
We had a QQ Sejuani in champ select, crying about losing and losing his duo over some previous ranked-related incident. He was arguing with us, and blaming our Top for no reason, and our Top was busy defending himself from unfound allegations.
In their fiery exchange, Sejuani (jg) forgot to take Smite. In-game at 0:00 our mid laner got mad at Sej, and Tahm (Top) refused to leash him because we all assumed he was trolling.
Angry, Sejuani went top and fed the enemy's Top (Heim) intentionally. He did this repeatedly 2-3x, threatening not to stop until Tahm apologized or admitted he didn't leash him.
Now, what would you do in these situations if you were the enemy team? Laugh? Try to fuel the fires? Gloat at your assured victory? Yes. I would've too. In Ranked, you get what you can get -- and a free win is rare -- so you do all you can to assure it.
BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT OUR ENEMY TEAM DID. Sejuani was crying so much in allchat that the enemy team pleaded for him to stop feeding and calm down. Heim and Jax of the enemy team offered TO LEASH SEJUANI!!! They told him to come to gromp.
When I read that in chat, I was amazed, and it stilled me. I couldn't believe they'd leash the enemy team's jg.... but sure enough, I watched as heim leashed Sej @ gromp... and then wolves. I stopped watching after that cuz I wanted to catch up on cs, but I believe Jax helped leash him as well.
During the leashing, sej was low hp and so was heim. Syndra begged sej and me to kill heim, but we didn't.... and heim nor jax didn't kill sej.... it was a beautiful sight.
I wish League was like this each day. Truly newsworthy. Wish I had recorded this game or someone did. It shows that despite all the inhumanity in League, there are still human heart moments.
Fyi, the enmy team won, but I couldn't be happier for them -- I lose a lot of games, but this is the only one I felt the enemy team deserved the win, regardless of their skill.
LET'S FOLLOW THEIR EXAMPLE!
