Hey everyone,

We want to make sure you know what’s coming this Snowdown season. We heard your feedback and made sure to include a few special things to this year’s Snowdown, like icons that you can pick up for IP, Snowdown minions, and an early announce of available Legacy skins.

Check out the info below to see what’s rolling out this Snowdown, which is headed down the chimney next patch.



To kick things off, we’re launching these new snowy skins:


Snow Day Bard | Snow Day Syndra | Snow Day Gnar

  • Snow Day Syndra (Legacy - 1350 RP)
  • Snow Day Gnar (Legacy - 975 RP)
  • Snow Day Bard (1350 RP)

Gnar and Syndra will be heading to the Legacy vault when Snowdown is over.



New Snowdown icons and wards are also joining the fun:


  • Icy Minion icon (Legacy - 1500 IP or 250 RP)
  • Bundled Minion icon (Legacy - 250 RP)
  • Penguin Skier ward (Legacy - 640 RP)

More info about the Legacy skins that’ll be on sale during Snowdown will launch on November 30, so keep an eye out for that.



Additionally, extra bonus RP is headed your way from November 29 at 00:01 PST through December 7 at 23:59 Pacific. You can check out all the details here.



We’re also launching four new Legacy “snowball” icons that you can toss to your friends (or enemies who you want to make friends) for 100 IP each. Anyone who gets a snowball icon to the face will get to keep that icy icon and will also get a one-win IP boost.

From December 23 through the end of Snowdown, whenever you grab a Legendary skin, you’ll unlock a free Mystery Box. If that Mystery Box contains a Legendary skin, you’ll get another Mystery Box, and if that one is packed with a Legendary, well… you get the idea. We’re calling it Legendary Snowball!

He’s big, he’s fluffy, and he’s here to preside over all poros once again! The Legend of the Poro King game mode returns to Howling Abyss all through Snowdown! The reward icons from last year were exclusive to Snowdown 2014, but we are bringing back the original Poro icons and skins.

As a Syndra main I am VERY excited to see a new skin. Especially a winter themed one. Just so happens to be that December is the month I was born in. >u> Maybe I'm looking too into it, but I am excited. No doubt I'll be getting this skin. (I want them all for her since, you know, Syndra main and all.) And a Legacy skin no doubt. 1350 RP though.....I can see it. Especially with new particle effects and such. I'm not on the PBE so I can't get in and experience her. But I can wait. Plus the RP bonus on purchases is coming soon. Wallets, be ready.

I like these skins and all. But you'll at Riot seem to forget about a certain champion that's been waiting four and a half years for a skin. He's based on a certain grave digger in a Shakespearean play...

I dunno if I can call myself a Bard main, but he's my go-to support and the only champion I have mastery level five with. But I absolutely love that Bard skin

My only hope/wish is for his ultimate to get a sort of Snowglobe effect, with it being a large circle, maybe throw some falling flakes, stuff like that. It would make the skin absolutely perfect. As it stands, the blue projectile with the blue splash and then turning them golden is kinda weird. But, hey, PBE content, I'm sure they'll change that at least

Why only Howling Abyss and Summoner's Rift? Can Twisted Treeline and Crystal Scar please get some love as well? Lots of players will be playing those maps during Snowdown so your work will on these maps will indeed be worth it.

Regarding the legacy skins on sale during Snowdown, is there any possibility that these legacy skins could include traditional skins? Like, traditional Karma maybe?? ;))))))))))

With the legendary snowball game thingy does it apply to if You Were gifted the legendary skin? My friend said he would gift me one and I was wondering if I would get that snowball bonus. Or does he get it 0_o
