How come losing team doesn't get loss prevention when someone AFK or leaves for rage, or computer goes plop in the middle of a match its frustrating winning 15 lp and then losing 26 every other game because someone decides he didn't want to support or whatever the reason may be?
Should of predicted that before queue up.
I'm sure part of it is to prevent abuse. For example, if you team starts to lose, you could ask someone to leave so you could get loss prevention. If only the leaver gets loss, then then you would cut your losses by 80% while keeping 100% of the wins. Everyone's lp gets inflated as a result.
While this sucks when you're on the team with the leaver, statistically you should have an equal number of matches that are made easier because someone on the opponent's team left, making the system "balanced" which is why they don't mess with it.
