Ranked Confusion

So I was silver 5 last season, I recently played my ranked promos for this new season and I gotta know. How do I get placed in bronze 4 after winning 8 of my promos our of ten?!?!?! Its so irritating, I didn't go negative in a single one except one of them that I lost! Im so frustrated because it took me forever to get to silver and I thought for sure thats where I would be placed. Instead I stuck back in the bottom of bronze, someone please explain this too me?!?!?! Sorry if I posted this in the wrong board.

ya I was Silver 3 I go 9-1 and end up Silver 5. Why do you get punished for doing well?

I'm just so unbelievably frustrated, especially after the new patch says your entry games won't affect your current rank as much as they used too. I practiced Kalista for over a week to be good enough to carry with her!!!

its a reset jesus your not gonna go up in divisions, your going to go down. The best you can do is not go down that much. And if your where silver 5 and got placed bronze 4 after winning 8 games your mmr was probably pretty shitty (aka you have to drop a whole tier to get dropped out a V division, so just being silver V does not mean you are silver v in skill level). your lp gain will high just play games get back to silver and go from there

I went 8-2 in bronze 5 and actually dropped lolking score. makes no sense. they literally completely wiped my score. i went like 12-0-17 one game. ridiculous. my 2 losses were 50, and 55 minutes respectively. my wins ... one was 20:07 forfeit because we were winning so hard (no dc either)
