Abandoned Game Penalty

I believe that the penalty for not choosing a champion in time during blind picks is far to high. I currently hold a 15 minute penalty for not selecting a champion, but I only withhold from selecting a champion because my team would be so disorganized the game would not be fun, and the players hostile to our own team mates. So why am I being punished for preventing a bad game. I am not talking about removing the penalty completely because it prevents people from tampering with games, but I do believe 15 minutes is far too long for someone who made a mistake, or was overall benefiting the team, and team spirit.

If this change went through, people just wouldn't close the client, and would wait for the pick timer to run out.

i dont think it would work. too many people would abuse it! While i will agree there needs to be more time to organize a team. usually youll go in a queue with a set role you want to play. You may not get said role, but just stick to what you want and what is best for the team in your mind. I have been in matches where we didnt even know who was choosing what role, get locked in and just play with what we got. As long as people arent toxic we usually will win!

people would just keep dodging until they got the role they want with a team they like. it would be impossible for a game to actually start up.
