Help with FPS

Hi i have a MSI 970 graphics card, and a pretty op monitor, pretty sure the thing is 144hz. IM wondering what do i adjust my settings to, to get the best performance out of my computer. Also when i uncap my FPS is gets all glitchy and shoots up to like 500-300, y is this? any help would be great.

turn vsync off, uncap fps, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. if it seems glitchy/screen teary (usually nvidia cards won't but sometimes they do), turn vsync back on and cap fps at your monitor's refresh rate.

Do you mean FPS, or Ping? If it's FPS, in-game settings allow you to cap your FPS at a specific interval (60 FPS, etc)

make sure you have the correct cable. Different DVi cords and HDMI cords support different frames.

Hmdi is not supposed to even be used over 30fps, but it can be pushed higher for certain resolutions.

DVI cables have like 3 standards based how pins they have. More pins the higher resolution and frame rate.

Also cable length effects frame rate. This tends to be a bigger problem for HDMi than DVI though.

Check your card and monitor it may have gsync or another hardware video sync out side of league.
