LP System Reform (from a genuine and concerned summoner)
So you've probably seen a million of these. I have recently played a ranked game where a Yasuo went top and fed a Teemo. the rest of the lanes were ok but this guy refused to communicate and AFK'd. Im skarner jungle and trying to reach 6 quickly to help gank, get necessary early vision and fend off a few invades that happened. So that puts my team in a 4v5 and although its hard I've been on teams before where we worked some magic and made it happen. So im prepared to hunker down and play a smart game. to make this work. I've found that when it comes to ranked people are negative by default. Even traditionally good players who don't have a history of issues can have a negative attitude as soon as they see another player play no to their liking or behave poorly. This generally good player has been downbeat by countless games with flamers and toxic players. Although he is good the tilt is real. So in this game we were doing ok but because the other team was fed and had numbers advantage we slowly started to loose objectives and give up a few kills we just couldn't help. This triggered the common want to ff. It so hard to prevent and remove toxic players because at any given time in a game good players can tilt and go bad. Even if its just for a game or 2 all 9 other players on the rift can feel the effects his negative play and it imprints on everyone. I know more and more people are quitting League. Long time players are just worn out and tired of all the emotions and negative play. It is a part of my value system and from the way i was bout up to never surrender and never quit. So i never quit a game of League and im ok with the consequences. I get crap for it a lot. It is totally fine by me of all other 4 players want to quit but to verbally harass me for not wanting to quit is not ok. This also means taking responsibility from mistakes and realizing what you need to do to fix them and be open to suggestions by teammates and not getting mad about it. I know its not always possible to make a comeback in these situations. I know people feel like they are wasting time on a lost game. I understand that feeling as well. I play every game to the end hoping to effect the game in a positive way. With the proper team work even a 4v5 loss can be a good game. In order to combat negative attitudes from teammates i have to be extremely positive and put aside my own emotions to make sure every single person feels like they can be free to play the game. It is really hard at times but the best option is to let things go and let people know that what they are saying or doing is not cool and its not helping the team. This tactic of positivity has been working for me. It is so hard for the normal person to put themselves aside and play and act for the betterment of the team even in a inevitable loss. BUT being positive and selfless no mater what works. I get tons of teamwork and positive player honors. I am not a bronze 5 player at my core. Thats just where i got placed when i was still new to the game. So I decided I wanted to climb ELO this season. Im at bronze 2 now and feeling like I will make silver by the end of the season. What i think is extremely unfair is that I do everything humanly possible to make the game positive and do my part by not feeding a game that is doomed to loose but I still have to suffer a fairly heavy loss of LP at the end of a game because 3 players decided to AFK. 3 PLAYERS!! I can't comprehend why that is fair. I am writing this huge block of words to get someone to put some thought into this and make some reforms. Thanks for listening to my story, thoughts and ideals. So you better take what I'm saying into some kind of consideration because I know im right.
