The *Community* Needs to Read This

I will try my best to make this as short as possible, but it is a complex scenario so it will not be easy. I love this game. I love how it feels to play ranked, to make friends on this game, and to secure that penta with the odds against you, pushing to the nexus for the mind blowing win. Before this game, I played a game where it was encouraged to trash talk as much as you could. It was how everyone played, nobody minded. Don't get me wrong, it is, today, a strong belief of mine that the league community is overly toxic and needs a strong focus in this area, but the story I will tell you is not a representation of this.

My account has been banned a few times, it has been chat restricted. I told myself, "maybe I should chill out." - I didn't. I didn't enjoy being this rude on a game and it was more simple to stop being a prick then I was giving credit for, so a few months ago I decided to take a month of the game to just calm down and come back with a new attitude about it. When I came back my account was banned for another 14 days and I chuckled as hit "I understand." I knew I had deserved it, it was fine with me.

I began to play on my smurf while I waited. A few days ago I decided to check the date that I would be able to play on my main account again, and instead.. a message informing me that I had been instead permanently banned popped up. You know what community? I would understand feeling the need to just get rid of me, I mean I hadn't had a chance yet to prove I was going to play nice, but should I really deserve the chance? That isn't what this is about: I decide to email riot, informing them of my situation.

Here is what I asked for in my email: I want just a person to read what I am saying, to actually read it and take it seriously. All I want is for anything BUT an automated response. I spent hundreds of dollars on this account buying skins and gifts for friends and spent hours grinding the IP I needed and the LP I deserved. All I wanted from them was a few minutes for a real person to read what I had said. This is the key point guys. I got an automated response from a support individual from riot. It pretended to be real but it was clearly a perfect copy paste, so many people had clearly read it before.

This is where it gets interesting. I was told AND I quote (I AM WILLING TO PUT THIS ON HERE JUST REQUEST) that I was being permanently banned for the things that I said in a specific chat long. That chat long was sent to me. Guys I said, "fucking", "shit," "god damnit," and "this is r%%%%%ed." I didn't even direct that to the others on my team. It was referring to a crappy lane we were in. YES I was unpleasant but my goodness I'm being banned for cursing? There is a chat filter. There is the mute option if I'm being offensive. Riot's response was that I was encouraged to make a new account but I wouldn't be having my ban lifted.

Are you serious? You claim that your reason is to Better the community but you want me to stay on the game? Just not with my original stuff? Maybe I do deserve to be banned, maybe you guys won't agree with me. To me though, this is incredibly screwed up: I just want someone to actually listen to this crap, they didn't so maybe some of you will? I'd enjoy feedback, thanks. -Sky
