Vel'koz's Inspiration?

I've recently started watching an anime called "Parasyte-the maximum"(which is amazing) but I realized that maybe Vel'kozs inspiration was from the manga "Parasyte" because the characters who are the 'enemies' seem to not understand human emotion/attachment etc etc. Also, since Riot always plans their champions years in advance I wouldn't be suprised! It's an old[ish] manga. The characters have many eyes like velkoz and while in attack form look very..er.. other worldly. Look into it and tell me what you think!
