Riot and Fan Subs

Has Riot ever used a champ/item that a fan has submitted? Under normal circumstances, I could care less, but I've gotten into creating champs myself and I want to know whether or not I have even a .01% chance of impacting the League community at all, or if I'm just wasting my time on this. Sooo... Yea, are there any champs that were originally fan submitted ideas?

Note: I'm not sure if this post is in the right place. I wish there were a community for general discussion.
