Well, I can understand that Riot needs to stop the server when they are making major changes/patches, etc. However, couldn't they also list the approximate time when the server is going to back up in their update schedule notice instead of just shutting it down and making users wait indefinitely?
They did, they said it would be back up around 6:00 AM PST on the status announcement that appeared at the top of the client, and on the Status Page. Good news though, it didn't take them that long so the servers are back online now.
They do post the ETA.
it usually never takes them more than an hour to get the servers back up when dealing with Maintenance, and Patches! And like others have said they do post an ETA which is usually 6am, but like i said they never really go over that unless something goes wrong!
