DOTA(2) Hero Equivalents?

I'm new to LoL, but I've been playing DOTA for many years. I understand that the designers at Riot draw some inspiration from DOTA heroes when creating their champions. Are there any champions in LoL with a long range ability similar to Ancient Apparition's ultimate?

As a more general question; Are there any specific champion abilities that are similar to classic DOTA abilities? Such as Enigma's Black Hole, Venomancer's Plague Wards, etc. Any LoL equivalents?

EDIT: It occurs to me that saying "Champion X's Q" or something probably doesn't mean much to you if you're not that experienced with League's champions; My apologies.

Hmm... Honestly, I can't say there's many cases of "X Champion = Y Hero"; it's more like "Y Hero has Champion X's Q, Champion Y's E, etc. etc. And Vice Versa"

For example, Puck's Q is like Lissandra's E, his W is almost like Blitzcrank 's ultimate, his E is kind of like Fizz} 's E or Lissandra's ult, and his R is like a very modified Morgana Ult.

There are plenty of global ultimates like Ancient Apparition's ult, though not QUITE the same: Ashe, Jinx, and Ezreal all have a 'global range skill shot", though out of the three of them, Ashe's is more used for utility (Jinx has an execute, Ez can pass through more units).

Also, all three of the ones I mentioned are ranged Carries, while Apparition is more of a support if memory serves.

Enigma's Black hole... hmm... closest thing that comes to mind is Orianna's ult, but that's less "Hold them all down for a long time" and more "Bring them all to this point real quick for my team to unload AoE on them".

Viktor's W maybe, though that's more 'Slow enemies in this area, group them together at the end'. There are definitely 'suppression' type skills (You channel while CCing someone to death) but they're all single-target.

Venomancer... Off the top of my head, Zyra has something like that, though they don't last as long as Venomancer's wards, and it's sort of on a combo system (You put down a 'seed' with her W skill, use another ability on the seed, and it'll turn into one of two plants).

It's been a bit since I've played DotA a lot, but I'll be happy to answer whatever questions I can. Reading through the wiki helps: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/League_of_Legends_Wiki

EDIT2: Cleaned up a bit, added champion portraits. EDIT3: Champion portraits made things look weird; if you want to know about any of the champs I mentioned, feel free to ask.** I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH how much I will ramble when I start answering questions.**

there isn't really any move similar to ancient apparition's ultimate, there are very few global abilities and none function like that

the closest one is probably ashe's arrow, but she can't trigger an explosion from it and the kill percentage (champ gets shattered below certain hp levels) doesn't exist with ashe arrow

League doesn't really copy champions as much as games like HoN do. There's no ability exactly like the one you linked, but Ziggs ult is a (very) long ranged AoE nuke and a few other champions have global ranged skill shots.

There's allot of overall kit similarities but generally there's a severe lack of very similar kits. I.E.

Axe has some similarities to both Darius and Shen, both were influenced in part by him. Though Shen is a CC-heavy support tank with a global teleport, and Darius is based around stacking passives and careful positioning to prepare himself for his execute.

Malzahar has some similarities to Enigma, both being a creep-spawning thing with voidy-spooky darkness powers.

The difference is Malzahar is a combo...not quite bursty, but quite capable of making someone vanish quite quickly if he lands his full combo known for his pushing powers and using minions as harass tools. (SPREADING THEM AIDS)

Warwick was actually based on Bloodseeker but he has only one ability in common. (his E, passively lets him spot low health targets)

That's actually pretty common for League champions. There's usually only one or two abilities in common but the feel is pretty different.

As far as ancient apparition goes, I'd say Anivia. She's very different, but her Q is something akin to his ultimate. It's a (relatively) long range skillshot that's detonated to deal additional damage and stun while her ultimate is somewhat akin to a combination of his Q and W.

I.E. Drow Ranger and Ashe have a single ability in common (Frost arrows)

Sniper's Q is Miss Fortune's W. Sniper's R is Caitlyn's R (sorta) Sniper's E is Kogmaw's w (mostly)

I think Riki also is vaguely Shaco-like in playstyle. Though shaco relies on traps, clones and his brief invisibility... but i think the general playstyle is similar. Ambush, cripple and eliminate.
