I've been lagging a lot lately and the internet I use is Comcast. It's not just in-game too. It's the internet in general. The lag appears to be unexplainable.

Comcast doesn't use private connections to each customer's service address, all the traffic is shared with any other comcast customer in the area, so if more people are online, you will experience some lag, whereas if there are less people using up bandwidth it will be a lot smoother. Remember, their speeds are "up to" which can also mean less than. so if your package is, let's say, 20 mb/s (20 megabits, not megabytes for those that don't know) then you can get UP TO 20, but you can also get less which i would normally suspect to hang around the 12-15 megabit range. If you're curious, just call and ask them about it or chat with one of their customer representatives on their live chat on the comcast/xfinity website.

I've been connecting pretty well recently with comcast. 85-95 ping from northern virginia, which is pretty decent considering my location.

Last week or two I've been having ping spikes up to 140 and sometimes even as high as 800 (losing control of my character completely), but I attribute that to the new patch. Seems to happen intermittently every time there's a big patch or champion release and goes away after 2-3 weeks.

I have Comcast for decades... currently have approx 20MS range lage and have 0 problems with LoL.

  1. Don't live on East Coast
  2. Have at least "Performance" Tier of Service with Comcast... any lower and your Interent will be too weak otherwise.
