Do you want people to get tired of a game? Cause that's how people get tired of a game!
I have a list to the floor of friends that used to enjoy league, and have since found the try-hard, toxic, 40 minute slow motion trainwrecks cause one person messes up and feeds, to be a wholly miserable gaming experience. This weekend however, I had a number of friends patch up and log in to play Nexus Seige and we had a blast! Then logging in today to recall that rotating game modes only last the weekend (work weekends? F-you) and left with 3 options, 2 of which have existed for nearly 8 years now. Yes I know, "server space this" and "but it will make other game modes less popular" but the point is that most games release with more playable game modes than LoL has after 8 years. Overwatch has a handful of game modes, that stay up indefinitely and often have event game modes that last longer than 1 weekend. Don't tell me "LoL is free" cause I know many of you and I darn sure have spent way more than $60 over the years on skins for League. Overwatch generated $256 Million. LoL, $1.6 Billion in revenue from what has been considered the most popular online game for quite some time, and there are basically 2 games modes. I may not have the highest level degree in business, but is making the rotating game modes last the whole week going to bankrupt Riot? I've paid so much for stupid skins, I'd gladly pay $$ to have more choices of game to play. All I'm saying is would you like a ton of players to come back and enjoy new fun game modes, thus increasing the chances of these players spending money again? Offer something other than the same game mode for 8 years now. Everyone of you has brought up League to a person and heard the same, "It used to be fun but people try so hard and are such d*cks in that game." If only there was a way to get a lot of these players back into your game... If in my little fraction of the world I've seen this many people frustrated and fed up with the 1 of 2 game modes you offer, I know Riot has to see this as well. It just seems like a common sense business move to retain more players by offering more options. It's not as though Riot earns more or less money depending on which game mode is played. More players = More opportunity to generate $$ in skins and purchases. Do you want to bring back a lot of players and generate more revenue from said players? Cause that's how you bring back a lot of players and generate more revenue.
