We as a community should somehow get enough attention to have riot "nerf" LeaverBuster. I understand that it is a punishment for afk, and leaving but it gets extreme. I understand the 5 minute wait, that is reasonable. It is when you get to the 10 and 20 minutes that it becomes ridiculous. -The 20 minute point requires you to sit and wait for a total of 100 minutes, or 1 hour 40 minutes(this is a total of all 5 waits not one individual wait, someone had an issue with my wording last time). Nobody has time to deal with that. -The system has no reasoning. It is a black and white justice system that does not look at anything except the fact that you afk, or quit for a game. -There is no reset. Positive behaviors for a certain number of games should reset your wait to the previous stage. -LeaverBuster is an in-game punishment system. This should be the case however due to the length, it also impacts real life. This is unreasonable. -Lastly, the leaver bust cause people to stop playing and even quit the game and uninstall. I mean Im no businessman but Im pretty sure thats counterproductive, especially considering its the players that keep riot off the streets! A little favor in return would be nice. Some things that could greatly improve the system. -Give it a voice of reason. Rather than auto banning everything, only take into account the games the player is reported, or even the number of times reported. -Divide all of the times by 5 or make each wait time 5 minutes. -Reduce the number of games the player is punished -Enable the system to be reset through either consistent behavior, being honored frequently, or even add an honor option that goes towards a pool that if large enough deducts a certain number of minutes permanently. (After 10 of these honors you have a 30 second reduction, making your 20 minute wait time 19:30 instead. Feel free top add comments or suggestions

A punishment doesn't work if people don't mind it.

Maybe don't AFK? If you're AFKing for reasons out of your control then figure the problem out and solve it in a custom so that you don't jeopardize others game experience.

Honestly i get this. I had a thing happen a few times in a row that caused me to lose connection, which counted as afk and i was put in low priority ques. i had to wait 20 min to enter a game. 20 min, +2 maybe in que, + maybe 7 in champ select if it goes quick, 3 minute loading screen, + 45 min game. 1 hour 17 minutes, + a minute post game to log out and then get back to life. Now, rito tells us not to que up unless we have an hour of free time to spare. but when they give us this punishment, it makes playing sometimes in under an hour impossible. I've had 10 minute ques, and that's after a low priority, so i really spent half and hour in que. I've also had hour long games, Sometimes champ select takes ten minutes. and sometimes the loading screen can take up to five. so an hour and 35 minutes to play a game. then consider that you need to log on and log off. another 5 minutes. an hour 40. I'm a college student. I don't always have nearly two hours to devote to one game, so i'll have to leave more if i get hit with this punishment and the game runs long. Then the cycle becomes vicious.

Leaving games is wrong, even for a few minutes.

Its great that you take care of your grandparents but everyone has their own shit. You need to take care of that on your own time and not queue when you are going to need to help them.

You aren't expected to have 0 AFKs. Punishments are for having an unacceptable rate of leaving games not just leaving 1 game.

This just in: the Riot development team has announced that it will be nerfing LeaverBuster so much that you will receive no penalty at all as long as you don't leave games.

Leaving games has a severe impact on other players.

The higher punishments are pretty harsh, but you didn't get the message with a warning or 2 lesser punishments.

You also can improve your standing with leaverbuster, you have to complete games without leaving.

Guys i say this because its impossible to flawlessly go through league without an occasional afk. I live with my grandparents and they frequently need help with things, i will go help for 2 minutes and all of a sudden I'm receiving punishments for afk. My "AFK" moment have no impact on the outcome of my games as i still consistently play well and contribute positively to the team. I do nothing wrong and still receive punishments. I know some people will say "then don't play league" but honestly there should be some way to get off easier with behavioral contributions to the community which are positive. I think the LeaverBuster is a great idea but it was poorly executed and should have more ways to see less severity. It can still be effective, regardless of lower severity.

I can't remember what patch it was but during the loading screen people when get stuck and have to re-log to get back into the game. During that time i got a AFK ban and the funny thing was I ended up being the carry and getting us the win. I sent riot so many messages about it and they refused to to do anything about it telling me that it was my fault. Once they fixed the patch I've had no issue and the people that do leave can deal with the wait time. I know way to many people that try to play a "fast game before work or school." Things do come up but even if they do you have to leave a good amount of games before getting the ban. After the patch fix I've not once gotten the AFK timer and I had to leave 3 or 4 games because something came up.
