Star Guardian Lux Disabled?

So I was playing a few games with the new skin yesterday and today I have noticed I have been refunded for the RP and the skin is no longer available. Was it released early by mistake?

Hey Zastarx,

Star Guardian Lux was turned on by accident, so we refunded the players who purchased the skin early. You can look forward to picking up Star Guardian Lux later this patch. Sorry for the trouble.

From a business perspective it's not very sound reasoning to just deploy all skins at once!

sure I could buy a SSW skin, but then could I also buy queen of diamonds syndra, AND Star Guardian Lux? No, way too much money.

Besides, once it's released we will have it forever, so if we can just be a little patient, then we'll get it soon.

And then we can punish everyone in the name of demacia.

From a business perspective, it's a horrible customer experience to buy a skin and then have a company rip it away from you. Besides, there's really no reason you need every skin that comes out during a new patch.

Sure, but a skin's best selling time is directly after its release. What if I did want all of them? I can't buy them all now. But what about one per week? That, I can swing.

(I don't even want more than two skins from this patch, I am just saying this is the thinking in marketing)

As for having it ripped away, you got your RP back and the skin will still be out soon. It sucks, but nothing was lost or gained.

So buy it in a week? Either way, Riot is getting your money, just at different times. You get your "RP" back ,but not your "money" back. It's a shitty experience no matter how you look at it.

I don't understand. Why not just put her out on their servers too =p ? Although it wouldn't be the first time we'd had material released on one server and not others.

It's clearly because they have a set schedule for when they release new content during each patch. So if it's enabled too soon (just like things on the PBE) they will disable it and then enable it when it's time,

Skins usually get released on Tuesdays or Thursdays for the most part so there's not too much to wait on.

Unfortunately, turning it on for all regions wasn't possible, which is why we decided to do what was stated above.

Why wouldn't it be possible? Can't they just press the release button or something? Letting someone buy something, then taking it away isn't exactly the best move.

Can you confirm that this skin was made to celebrate japanese server launch? And all japanese players transfering accounts to their server will get it free? (as it was with Sejuani skin for russian players)

To the best of my knowledge, this is just a regular skin, and it's not attached to any event.

Thanks! At least I know japanese server is not coming soon then (I was waiting since season 1 for that to happen). Hope dies last...
