Only anime's I've ever seen/want to see are Ghost in the shell(all the different seasons/shows.. my fav is SAC though) Samurai Champloo, basically an anti-hero lover's dream. And theres some kind of third one that I'm not completely forgetting.. idk I'm bored and tired.. woke up so early.. figured I'd just post and be bored for an hour. -----Edit----- Oh shit just remembered Cowboy bebop, really hard to describe how fun that was to watch and experience.

I'd recomment Berserk for you. There is anime and three movies, which cover the same story. Both are great but movies are more according to manga.

Or you could try Blood +. It is less anime-ish as it was made in coproduction with US. But there is sh*t load of episodes.

Also movie Vampire hunter D is something you might enjoy.

If you're into shows like that, you might also try;

  • Attack on Titan
  • Rurouni Kenshin
  • Fullmetal Alchemist (and/or FMA: Brotherhood)
  • Seirei no Moribito (Guardian of the Sacred Spirit)
  • Gundam Wing
  • Death Note

These are just a few like you listed which are really popular and that almost anybody can get into, even if they aren't too into anime.

Have you seen Tri-gun? It's pretty light-hearted in the beginning, but progress into a more serious tone. It's as long as Cowboy Bebop I believe, so 26 episodes. FMA: Brotherhood was also pretty good, Noragami is also a good anime that definitely needs more recognition.

I don't watch a lot of anime either, but I'll give Ghost in the Shell a try. I believe you might like Elfen Lied, which many of other peers say is a good horror anime.
