Is it THAT annoying to help push tower?

Last game, we had a toxic Singed that was pushing his lane as usual. I went to his lane to only push tower since I lost lane with Malz. Told him he could get all his cs yet curses me for whatever reason and backed to base, making it harder to push lanes. My question is: is it really THAT annoying to have someone on your lane helping you just to push tower?
