Is it just me or is this community getting more toxic by the day?

This is a competitive game, no doubt. But I play normal draft mode most often, and can't believe the number of times my own team reports me EVEN WHEN I have the most gold on the team and objective focus (I bring smite mid for scuttle/dragon/baron) because they are just salty af that we lost and I have the lowest number of "kills" (I never complain about "ks" as it's a team game).

Please stop being so toxic....especially in NORMALS.

Learn how to lose as a team, and don't ever blame the person with the MOST gold and objectives on your team just because you're salty they had a Tryndamere backdoor ult victory....

Yeah its getting worse, and its gotten to the point where I am seriously contemplating uninstalling league and going back to Smite. Sure the toxicity was normal for a moba, but it was NEVER as bad as the stuff I have seen on here. People telling them to go kill themselves People threatening to report others for doing things like...Taking too long in the shop (being in shop for >5s = afk?) Even had a teammate try and report his team for VOTING YES ON SURRENDER (His exact words "If u surrender I will report anyone who surrenders on my team"

As I said, I am in the process of installing smite and may just uninstall league. I am sick of being trashed and degraded because some kid with an over inflated ego thinks the rule of pick order doesnt apply to him (lost count how many times people raged and had a fit because they didnt get the role/champ they wanted so threw a complete tantrum)

So yeah, Seems like Riot is only interested in the money, they couldnt care less about the community. And it will just get more and more toxic now that the trolls and greifers have free run of the place. I have a couple friends who play league, see if I can get them to play smite instead.

Technically surrendering is having a negative attitude. Riot has done nothing to clarify anything you can report for and so you get this kind of stuff eventually. Regardless of what you may think about surrendering, by definition it is a negative action so it's not surprising that people are doing this now.

If it was such a negative action, why would they put in a surrender vote in the first place. Its like in a match where you are getting stomped so bad, the enemy is snowballing. and your teammmate cracks a whip on you because He/She still thinks they can win. so even if the team is willing to admit it was a hard fight but there is no turning the match around (just surrender, find a match and try again) this one player will often bully other people into voting how THEY want.

So I guess if it is negative attitude, Riot will be removing the surrender function? that way the trolls, the griefers, the feeders and the ragers will be able to keep teammates inside a toxic match as long as they want. And of course if you leave a toxic match, you get hit with leaverbuster. So you get a choice: Stay in the match with the toxic ragers and greifers, or bail the match and face the ever increasing leaverbuster punishent

Regardless of what you might think...

Surrendering is a negative action and people are starting to use it as such because RIOT did not think through their reporting function very good.

I actually started playing Smite last week, and bought the "all gods" pack for only 30 dollars (costs more than that just for the equivalent number of champions in league, let alone all of them now and ever).

I wanted to give league some time and play both to see if I would switch to Smite, but this community is so garbage during the summer, this one especially for some reason (it was no where near this bad last year) that I almost don't want to bother and just stick with watching league instead of playing it.

All the people I knew rl quit anyways due to idiots from new account up to ranked, so I don't even have that keeping me here anymore.

Been here for 4 years, but it is getting to the point I'm finding a lot more reasons to leave than reasons to stay, which is depressing cause I do love this game, but I really hate the community as a whole.

I am in the same boat, I decided to leave League for a while. Who knows if I will get back into it. I got the god pack for smite so I dont have to go bankrupt knowing one price and I get ALL current and FUTURE gods.

I love league as a game but the community is so toxic and hateful, so arrogant and conceited (so many narcissistic and self-absorbed players) in ranked. The game is great but I can no longer just look at the community and brush it off knowing that the trolls and greifers can go out of thier way to PROVOKE others, and then turn around and report the people when they succeed in getting a reaction, and it will be the one they intentionally provoked who will get the chat restrictions, who will get the bans.

I just cant sit back and ignore knowing riot Will NOT do anything. Thier system is automated garbage, thier responses are automated garbage (insert canned response #38219 !) and the trolls will continue to get away with it. From what I have seen smite has toxicity, but it is -no where- the level of toxicity that league has. The community looks at a new player and will do thier best to help them improve, NOT IMMEDIATELY jump to insults and degredation. Not telling new players how "worthless trash" they are for going 0/5 on thier first match with a new god/champ.

So yeah, I will keep an eye on the forums most likely (something to kill time), But I am ultimately done sinking My money and my time into Riot's game considering the Trolls and Griefers now have the power to report you for anything and get you banned, thus they have ALL THE CONTROLL over who stays and who goes. The trolls/griefers now controll the game, thanks rito.

I'd say dont play Normal Draft. That is currently prisoner's island thanks to riot's 'ranked restrictions' idea.

Normal draft seems to be a weird hybrid. I have had pretty bad experiences playing it- tbh even worse than ranked.

I would prioritize team builder > blind > draft for normals.

The longer the game is out the more people will join and play the game. That increases the amount of toxicity in the game. Coupled with the fact that it's a PC game game so it's the Internet and the animosity will get to people and act a certain way. Also because there is no real consequence when being toxic. Most people who are toxic more than likely have more than one account, so when they get ban they'll go to the next account and continue the process!

It's sad but really there is nothing more we or riot can do. Unless they made it so it's one account per person I really don't see how they would help more than they are now.
