The system cares more about the number of reported games than it does about the raw number of reports. As such, the total number of reports isn't particularly important. Even then, it's more about the number of reported games compared to the total number of games played.

Bans aren't issued without a review of some sort. In fact, it's not inaccurate to say that reports don't lead to bans at all, merely to reviews. The status of that review determines whether a sanction is issued.
You may not feel your ban deserved, and I can understand that, but I believe that if you're going to complain about a system, you should do so from a position of knowledge regarding its functions.
