A letter to Riot

Dear Riot, i coming from a land which maybe is a magic. Called "Europe West (EUW)".
I just want to reach out Riot Member, and have a Explanation why are some things only for NA and not for EUW.

**1.The new Chat Restriction. ** Is a nice thing, that Riot care about Toxicity in the Game and wanna to eliminate it. But you have released a uncompleted System on other Regions. While Lyte or some other Riot Member post Chat logs, to proof that people are toxic. We in Europe doesn't have anyone who actually care about Toxic Player and offer them a Improvent. EUW just having an endless Chat Restriction which kinda never end, because we don't have the Bans yet.
My Question: Riot Games Inc, why are you release a System on every region, but then work only for a Region (NA) to complete it. Why does Europe must suffer from endless Restriciton?

2.Activity from Riot I'm in the Forum for 1 Hour (between SoloQ Time). And only Rincewind, Draggles, Ymir maybe, some Riot Support Member are posting in the Forum and try to interact with the Europe Community. Even for other spefic Country in Europe (German) there is only Pente, Kengen and Ariya who posting, and interact with the German Community. If i look over the NA Region, there so many Riot Member who post on Stuff, like FanArts, Question, Comics etc. While on Europe it seem everything is dead. My Question:Is EU understaffed? Why have NA more interaction with Players, and EU only some People?

Please, Riot Games Inc, bring clarification between Riot Games Inc Europe and the European Community. I wanna know why Riot Games Inc, complete the new Chat Restrictio only in NA but not in Europe? Why looks Europe so understaffed between Communication, maybe Interaction too.

I might be able to help with some of the questions, although I don't work for Riot.

  1. Lyte has said in a post recently that they are addressing the NA 14-day bans right now because it's a new system that is being tested on NA before being rolled out into other regions. Because Riot is based in North America, it's easier for them to test it in NA. From what I understand it is a complicated system in which they need to monitor very closely to ensure it works properly. They have intentions to roll out the new banning system once the test is completed in NA. That said, it seems to be working REALLY well from what I have been reading so it might not be too long before it moves out of the testing stage.

  2. I believe these boards are one of the direct ways that Riot is addressing the problem that the communities are split between regions and thus hard for them to keep track of everything. If you notice you can view and post on these boards from any region. As things slowly get moved over to here, it should help bridge the gap in communication and interaction from Riot between all the regions.

  1. Yeah i understand that NA is a better Region to test it. But what was the reason to roll out the Chat Restriction on Europe, while it was not completed, and being completed now only for NA?

  2. (2.) And on the second point, i saw now the Option to switch the Region, and still write in this board. (Which is kinda hard to find) But Europe still has not a linked Option to get into the new Board Beta. And sometimes if just go to euw.leagueoflegends, the language is sometimes random. And for me it show that the European Riot Member doesn't really wanna post or having interact in the European Forum. ( I guess there much more Riot Member in the European Office, but doesn't really wanna interact.)

This article explains how the chat restrictions worked in every region up until about a week ago. I don't know enough about the chat restrictions to know if the (very) recent changes were rolled out to Europe or not... essentially they made it so you can get pretty close to permanently chat restricted.

Lyte posted about that here, and it was in response to an EUW player, so I would assume that the new changes to chat restriction is in effect in Europe, just not the new 14-day nan system:

The chat restriction system is going through some tuning. Before, players were confused when the chat restriction system would under-give chat restrictions, so you'd get 10, finish 10 games and get another 10 when the system should have just given you 20 to start.

The chat restriction system now tries to hand out the right number of chat restrictions in the initial waves. For players that have racked up a lot of consistently negative offenses, it's now possible to basically be "permanently" chat restricted. For many players with 500+ chat restrictions, it's effectively a super harsh, long-term chat ban. Some players say they'd rather be permanently chat restricted than permanently banned and lose their account, so we'll see what's more effective in improving behaviors.
